Xeth is impressed! And relieved that they already have something in place for defense! Beyond Republic space they are probably always needing to be prepared for the worst as it is.

Xeth will locate a frequency and hail some official channel on Alura, hoping that his transmission is not messed with by the shield.

"That s impressive...think we could get one of those?" Sean asks Xeth still in awe.

You quickly find a strong frequency you can broadcast over, Xeth. Seems the shield doesn't disrupt anything, else the planet would have to be closed to commercial traffic.

"Well that certainly works in our favor."
Wentar will also try hailing them. I have a feeling there will be more then one channel.

"Hello, can anyone help?" Xeth says. "I am seeking access to the central starport of Alura. I repeat, this is Jedi Xeth Tam seeking assistance."

A voice identifies itself as Selenian traffic control, and asks you to identify yourselves and your purpose in return.

Selenian traffic control, eh? Safe to assume Selen is a faction of Alura, that makes one! Wonder how many will end up poping up...

Indeedy.

Hm, can Wentar pick up any frequencies other then the one the Selen are using from The Free Flier? I want to see if there are any other traffic controls on the planet.

You seem to have cone in on the Selenian approach vector, so it is their 'airspace'.

Ah! Fair enough. I know it's Xeth's phone call but I assume the Selenian radioed all of us, if so may as well put my high Charisma and social skills to the test. Lets hope don't screw over the mission at 'Hello.'

"We are Jedi from the Republic," Wentar replies. "My companions and I request allowance to land, we have information about an invasion force that your leaders must be made aware of."

I wanna smack my head against a wall after hearing these transmissions... do you get HP deducted if you bash it hard enough? Or do you get a dizzy-penalty?

No, but you can compete for the Obi-Wan Memorial 'Frustration with Companions' award if you wish.

You have an alternative approach you wish to advance as an idea, I assume?

Heh, did I do bad? Sorry, may have gotten ahead of myself...

I think it's actually just Jovan not liking the direct Renegade style, rather than criticism per se.

Ah! Okay then. 😄

my character is a bit annoyed Xeth announces himself as "jedi" which can imply that he's an official representative of the Senate & JC... which is at least a dodgy area and can give problems further down the road when there are some problems and they blaim it through Xeth on the Republic.

I'm unaware if Wentar is a jedi or renegade, but if he's a jedi, again, my character doesn't like him touting he's a jedi from the republic. These people are not part of the republic... "If they had needed our help they would have asked for it", they can consider anything coming from the Republic as hostile or dangerous especially if it's a bunch of people with shiny swords that can cut through everything and can do magic by just thinking of stuff.

The only thing that needs to be done is getting through the shield... Every planet, even Tatooine, has some nice places to visit so why can't the jedi, at least, say the truth and say they want to land and see some things? Even if that wouldn't work, you can say you want to do some trade... which in broad terms is true: we seek information and those that will give it will always want something in return.

sorry, we posted at the same time apperently... Yes it's not criticism, I just don't like us being so blunt, especially the "regular" Jedi since this government can only find a Jedi intimidating (positive or negative)

Wentar is a Renegade.

Technically Wentar didn't say we represent it, just that we're from it, we were all born there. Anyway if they found out we're Jedi then they'll know we're from the Republic too. The way Wentar sees it, lying about why we're here will come back to bite us. Though when I say lying I mean about the Renegades, he wont claim to represent the official Jedi here.

This might be a good time for the Renegades to consider how they are presenting themselves; their status is harder to describe than 'off-duty Jedi', which is the simple fallback Jovan, Denz and Lance can use.

Now that I think about it, are the Renegades allowed to call themselves Jedi or is that title stripped from them when they leave to Order?

I guess the Renegades could say that they're private investigators/good Samaritans. Renegades were hired for an unrelated case, during the course of it they came across something that pointed towards Alura being in danger and couldn't live with themselves if they didn't try to help them. If that makes any sense or even comes close to what you were asking.

Others will probably have better ideas.
