USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE IV (RENEGADES)- Battlefield

Yep, it would be great if Wentar can drop of Vlad and Sean on the ground near the Defense Battery. Once he gets there, Vlad will ask for the commanding officer in charge of the battery/ the defences.

Denz and me will start combing out from the defense battery when we're dropped off.

As the Free Flier arrives at the guns, one of them is already down! Great explosions are sprouting up all over, sending defending troops scattering. You can see clear evidence of missile traces- the area is under rocket attack!

Troops to the fore of the guns, behind various bits of improvidsed cover, are exchanging sporadic gunfire with battle droids, whose sense of cover is not great and a lot of whom are being blasted down in the open, but this is keeping the troops busy.

Kiu, this is a communications hub, strategically vital, on the edge of the Arjok Forest. The canopy of the forst was so thick that you couldn't see a darn thing from the air, and there seems to be all sorts of technical disruption going on. Indeed, it seems the Union has a very powerful signal jammer which is making many communications difficult; only the presence of centres like this is making remote conversation possible at all.

We need to find the guy in charge. Get briefed by him before we do anything, yeah? Could we spot the rocket launchers as we came in?

Behind a hill (this is verdant county), where the attacks seem to be coming from.

Hmm. I want to check in with the lead man here if there is time to spare, let him know we're here, what we're prepared to do for him, etc.

It will mean leaving your ship on the ground for a little bit if you do.

Hello Mr Moderator, can I please have a recap??

Would that make it vulnerable to getting broken by the droid armies? Could I use the comms to call him up?

Situation has been summarised recently, Denz, just read the last two pages.

Wentar- I was more thinking about those rockets landing all over. Hard to hear comms under artillery attack, too...

Can we land and talk to the CO at the comm center?

You can, though he probably doesn't know much.

We need to grab a dozen or so guards with us and head to the rocket launcher, me and Wentar, while Sean will stay at the turrets.

Wentar's gonna be heading there by ship Vlad.

Okay, I'm just going to drop Vlad and Sean off then head straight for the rockets in the Free Flier, no time to waste I say. But Wentar still feels the other two should meet up with the CO and get a better idea of things.

Any enemy anti-aircraft equipment I can see yet?

I meant get there on the ship, although I am not sure what the ship's full capacity is.

Ok, Vlad and Sean, Huey style, you are dropped off under fire. A short burst of shouted conversation 9difficult over the noise of the bombardment) gets you an idea of some nearby Leiutenant in charge of the men, who is yelling in to a communicator trying to get back up.

"You the, err, Jedi they said were coming?" he yells at you.

Wentar, you bear up and try and take a look. Hailfire droids! As seen in AOTC onwards, but of course we are before the wars here,. You know Xeth zsaw these things under development when they were trying to get the targeting systems right. Part of Xeth's suspicions here was that accurate targeting systems were freely available- for the right money. What the Union seemed to be trying to get right was a very very cheap targeting system, for mass production. Seems the targeting issue is sorted out as these guys are giving pretty accurate indirect fire. As they are in cover behind the hill the fire does have to be indirect, so that's probably why the four ubits have not levelled the guns yet.

They are defended by about a hundred droids and two standard Fed tanks. Those tanks can punch a nasty hole in your armour if you are not careful.

"Yes Lieutenant, that would be us. What's the situation?" says Vlad dashing up to the lieutenant under fire.

"What the hell are Coruscant sending Jedi here for?!" he asks.

"Well Lieutenant, we're not here under the orders of the Republic. This is our definition of vacation." chuckles Vlad as he responds.

"And does it matter why we're here, we're here to help, and I suggest you take it right now." Sean says, taking whatever cover is available.
