STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Decay

Not much, but your driver can tell you.

It was a dictatorship, but nothing harsh. It was said dictator whom wanted to convert the government into a democracy and join the Republic. Needless to say, he was the first to go when the anarchists struck.

And does Sparnik share the plans of the old dictator?

That is less clear. If the populace of Vono'k is to be brought under control, it must be done by a decisive and firm government. But Sparnik supported the dictator in all his political campaigns, so there is a good chance that he may carry on that legacy.

Well, I guess I will find out more when talking to him.

The men drive late into the day. Having left the main road, they do not meet any other speeders or people, though you can sense that you are being watched.

Finally, the landspeeder descends into a canyon and takes a series of confusing paths that split the landscape above. They come to a halt when they reach a dead-end, deep within the canyon.

"We are here," the driver says. He hops out, as do the others.

I will also leave the speeder and follow them where they bring me.

They do not go anywhere once they leave the speeder, but stand perfectly still.

You sense others nearby.

But no danger?

The people that begin to show up from behind every rock and from every crevice have their blaster rifles trained on you, but you sense that they will only fire if you give them reason to.

"Who is the pale man?" one of them asks.

"A Jedi," the driver says. "He has come to help the great Sparnik."

Murmurs rise amidst the riflemen.

I won't say anything and just stand by my company.

"He wishes to see Sparnik," the driver says.

"We will take the Jedi to him," they say. "Resume your posts."

I will follow them.

And so the group of men you arrived with leave in their landspeeder, while you receive an armed escort. They blindfold you to keep you from seeing where exactly you are going, but they cannot stifle your senses in the Force. Nor can they stop you from feeling the cool dampness as they head underground. They at least make sure you don't run into anything.

Finally, you are taken to a dark room, where they remove your blindfold.

"Do you carry weapons, Jedi?" one of your escorts asks.

"Yes" Con says it, not making any movement to turn them over.

"I must insist that I borrow them for a moment," the guy says. "Can't be too careful with our leader's safety. Not that I think you'll do anything to prevent justice from finding Vono'k, but... just in case."

Is Con carrying a blaster at this point?

Yes, being an adventurer I think he had a blaster with him on his missions, for different reasons.

I assume they know that Jedi carry lightsabres, and would find it suspicious if I didn't give them that?

Vono'k does not come into regular contact with Jedi or the Republic, but the Order and their use of lightsabers is legendary.

I will hand over my blaster as well as my sabre, but caution them to be careful with the sabre, as it can be dangerous to the wielder if not handled properly.

He seems thrilled to be holding a lightsaber, but promises to take care.

Now that you are unarmed, they deem it safe for you to speak with Sparnik.

An older gentlemen enters, his hair white from age and stress, but he is a rather large figure and in very good shape for his age.

"Greetings, Jedi," says the man. "I am Sparnik. I hear you wish to speak with me."

"Yes, I have got information that you might be familiar with or even employing two men I have been looking for."
