STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Liberator

"Like clockwork, sir," the pilot says. "I know the Senatorial district like the back of my hand. Lanes are all clear today, no construction or delays to be avoided. We should be at the Senatorial chambers inside of five minutes."

"Good to hear," Wentar says. What could possibly happen in five minutes...

What other areas of the ship are there?

There are in total five rooms- the cockpit, the lounge, the engine room, the security suite, and the surveillance dome (a transparisteel 'tower' near the bow of the shuttle). The dome is unoccupied and the security suite off-limits to anyone without a warrant to access it.

Wentar will move to the engine room, unless he comes across the surveillance dome along the way then he'll stop there instead.

The surveillance dome simply gives a view of the outside of the ship; data from scanners is projected onto the glass canopy of the dome. It tells nothing of importance.

In the engine room, everything is running smoothly. Senatorial vessels such as this one receive daily check-ups to make sure that their passengers get the smoothest flight without any delay.

You do notice that a hatch has been left open towards the back.

Do I sense any other life in the room?

You do not.

Wentar will go inspect the hatch, if he doesn't find anything out of the ordinary he will close it and go see the security suite.

Is Wentar going to peek down through the hatch or go down into it?

How far down does it go?

You can't tell in the dark, but it can't be that far, considering how small the engine room is in scale.

Wentar will just peek then, and instead go back to the lounge.

Wentar sees nothing and returns to the Senator.

"Having fun?" the Senator asks wryly, elbowing Wentar jokingly in the arm. "And I thought I was paranoid!"

The pilot announces that the air shuttle has reached the Senate and is going in for a landing. He thanks everyone for flying with him as the landing gear thud gently into the platform. The ramp lowers for disembarkment, and the Senatorial guards head out to make sure the area is secure.

Wentar's sense of discomfort just flared. Everyone is in danger.

"Everyone out of the ship now!" Wentar shouts, grabbing his lightsaber. "Something is very wrong here."

I'm going with my gut here, if everyone is in danger I fear the airspeeder may be the source, best evacuate it ASAP.

What is Wentar's immediate action, then?

Remember that the Senator is your primary ward, here.

Pull the Senator out of the ship.

Wentar acts quickly, more aware of the danger than anyone else aboard the air shuttle. As the passengers begin to react to his warning, Wentar moves straight for the Senator and firmly takes hold of him, pulling him to the ramp...

At this point, a massive explosion rips through the stern of the air shuttle. The hull balloons outwards and shreds as if it were burning paper as fire blossoms out from beneath the metal. The bow of the shuttle is blown open and ripped along its horizon as one would open up a sandwich. It rocks forwards onto its landing foot before tipping back and crunching down, the stern all but vaporized, onto the platform...

Wentar and Senator Farl are thrown forward down the ramp when the explosion begins, tossed rolling together along the ground. When they come to a halt, Wentar is atop the Senator, who appears to be unconscious. Wentar is not, but has been dazed by the conscussive blast.

The Senatorial guards are running towards you.

Dazed, Wentar stands. "One of you get a medic here now!" He shouts at one of the guards before turning his focus back to Farl.

Medicine roll on if he's stable enough to move. Leaving him out here is a very bad idea.

Before you can reach for Farl, your danger sense tips you off once more, but this time it is fairly obvious what the source is. The two Senatorial guards that had been onboard the shuttle stop short of you and raise their blaster rifles...

"Oh you've got to be joking..." Wentar says, activating his lightsaber. Moving in to disarm the 'guards'.
