STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Liberator

"And may the Force be with you, my old Padawan," Altar says, with a wry grin.

Is Wentar heading into the Senate chambers?

If that's where Farl has gone he will. No other place I can think of right now other then being at Farl's side.

Then Wentar moves into the Senate chambers- the massive arena of floating pods as seen in the films, with thousands upon thousands of delegates and their retinues present to represent their respective worlds, all of them members of the Republic. It takes you a moment to grasp the size of it all, both from the physical structure of it all and from the importance of what happens here, but then you make your way to Farl's pod, currently docked as Farl does not have the floor. The Senatorial guards stand on the pod with him, with Emso standing at the pod's entrance, just off of it.

"Hello, Wentar," Emso says as you approach. "The meeting is about to begin."

Wentar looks around the chamber, so many different beings, it's a wonder they can all get along.

"Excellent, I was hoping I would return in time," Wentar says. "I trust nothing out of the ordinary happened while I was gone?"

Emso shakes his head.

"All is well," Emso says. "I don't want to jinx it."

Wentar can't help but chuckle at the superstition. "There's no such thing as 'jinxing' when Jedi are involved," Wentar says with a smile. "Especially when the Jedi is more interested in things going on now then things that are going to happen."

Speaking of which is Wentar allowed in Farl's pod during the meetings? If so then he'll move onto it now.

Yes, you are able to sit in the pod, though you have no authority to speak on the floor.

The Senate meeting is particularly uneventful, though honestly it is the first time you have been here in some time so it may be interesting to watch the process at work. Altar Vynn was never much for politics and so only brought you to watch briefly.

Chancellor Palpatine seems mostly to be reviewing existing laws to gather Senatorial opinion about how things are and what changes should be made, so that he can get an idea of the situation. Many of the Senators voice their approval of the things he proposes when something comes up that most Senators dislike. Palpatine also continues to push his idea for the Bureau of Immigration and Undesirables, which is quickly gaining support (though not from Farl), and discussing punishments against the Trade Federation for the debacle at Naboo.

The whole process takes several hours.

(I'm sure if Wentar has a few points in law he's make a scary foe on the Senate floor.)

After hours of political talk that Wentar just can't wrap his head around, even this patient Jedi shows signs of inpatients after the first few hours.

"I hadn't realized just how long these talks could be," Wentar mutters, rubbing his eyes slightly. "I have new respect for the patience of a Senator after this."

"It is a tough position," Emso tells you. "After this, he has to go to his Commission."

"I look forward to that," Wentar says. "Not only a chance to get to the bottom of these attack but also seeing other Senators who want to do something about those damn slavers."

"Yes," Emso says. "I'm sure you'll enjoy them, a bunch of tired and cranky Senators discussing something they're totally against but all want to handle in their own ways. Thrilling, to be sure..."

The Supreme Chancellor calls an end to the Senate meeting, taking a brief moment to welcome Senator Farl back from his extended stay in the hospital after the attempted taking of his life. The Senators all applaud his health, then resign for the day. Senator Farl remains in his pod.

"Not as fascinating as you had imagined, I'm sure," Senator Farl says to you. "Now, we wait until the majority of the Senate is cleared out and we organize the Commission! You can see who I spoke of, in regards to my opposition."

"Lets just hope my suspicions are wrong, yes?" Wentar says.

"Let us hope," Senator Farl says.

The clearing of the Senate takes forever and a day, Wentar. Thousands of beings shuffling out of their representative pods and making their way to the incoming shuttles and starships and speeders crowding the platforms lining the outside of the Senate building. You are most relieved to not have to put up with it; instead, Farl beckons you into the pod and then raises it into the air, into the center of the chamber, where the Chancellor's podium has retracted from.

"Senators of the Sentient Rights Commission!" Senator Farl shouts from his pod. "Are we all in attendance?"

Lights start flashing on the screen in Farl's pod, highlighting names of Senators in attendance for the Commission meeting. You catch the names of Senator Darcil of Kentar V and Senator Bremack of Agamar on the screen; they are here.

Wentar will look around and see if he can spot them.

How many are here anyway? Hundreds, thousands?

Not knowing what they actually look like, you cannot find them. But there are several hundreds in attendance that make up the Commission.

Okay then... The Senator mentioned something about the Commission returning to the suite, I'm assuming it'll only be a handful showing up? The suite can't hold them all... Can I get a list of who is coming back with us?

Actually, the Senate building has numerous lecture hall-like rooms in its lower levels that the Senate uses for groups like the Sentient Rights Commission. Once Senator Farl is satisfied that everyone is in attendance, he requests that everyone return their pods to the docked position and move to one of the lecture halls.

He then points out Senators Darcil and Bremack to you. Darcil is a very old man with great whopping sideburns that frame his face in a tangle of white hair, wearing a modest outfit. Bremack is a young woman wearing the most lavish of dresses, her dark hair done up in a ridiculous sci-fi fashion and her severe features accented by make-up. They move out of their pods after you see them.

"We should do the same," Senator Farl says, "but there they are."

Ah, damn, I was hoping I wouldn't have hundreds of people around the Senator, oh well.

"Indeed, best not to delay," Wentar says, moving aside and letting the Senator lead the way.

Onward to the lecture hall room thing!

The lecture hall is much the same design as any of Palpatine's offices seen in Episode II and III- primarily a darkened red with gray details and carpeting. It is sizeable enough to fit over a thousand beings; only the Senators go into the meeting, sending their aides back to the docking areas.

Senator Farl has you accompany him to the front of the lecture hall, waving for you to stand next to him as he takes the podium and waits for everyone to file in.

Wentar will silently stand by Farl's side, keeping a calm impassive look going, despite the discomfort that standing before hundreds of beings gives him.
