STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Liberator

Farl can point it out to you, but notes that it would be a bad idea to reveal it to the assassins. He subtley looks toward a security cam overlooking the door.

A simple lightsaber slash can fix that problem I'm sure. Unless disabling it will trigger some kind of trap/alarm.

Sinking your lightsaber into it does just fine. They will notice eventually, but hopefully you will be in control of the security system before they can do anything about it.

"Alright," Farl says. "Now then... cut here."

He points to a higher section of the wall where the corner would be if Triskatani architecture did not round everything off.

"It is only for this wall," Farl says, "so the current will reestablish itself from another outlet. Act quickly to remove the door."

Wentar will do as Farl says. Considering how many doors Wentar's been cutting through recently he should be pretty proficient at it by now.

One would think!

The problem with interrupted the flow is that the outlet cannot simply be ruined. Sizzling it with your lightsaber would still allow for energy to keep flowing into the liquid stuff.

So I need to block it or even disable it or short it out. Don't have much to work with. Maybe stuff the outlet with my robe? 😛

Cut out the device completely?

Cutting out the wiring completely isn't practical, but your robe would certainly interrupt it! Your robe is not solid enough to truly cut the current.

But enough to get what we need to do done, yeah? Maybe Farl has something more solid on him? Don't think Wentar has anything else he could use.

It needs to be fully cut momentarily. You need something solid that won't conduct the current, maybe about a foot long, that you can wedge into the power line once you cut it.

Like the hilt of a lightsaber?

In addition to that not being good for your lightsaber, you need it to cut down the door. If you have nothing on your person with which to do this, you might find something in your surroundings that would suit your needs.

The stairs would have railings yeah? Maybe cut a piece off that... The destroyed security camera could work too I'm sure.

Destroyed security camera could most definitely work!

Alrighty then. Lets do that then. Interrupt the outlet with the cam/robe combo then cut the door down.

The combination of the robe with the cam does it- after you slice a chunk out of the power line, the liquid falters enough for you to jam your gumf into it. With the electrical feed canceled, the Triskatani liquid becomes muck and sloshes onto the floor. The door is revealed!

You cut it down in moments with a practiced hand. It falls inward and you and the Senator hurry in. Once in, the electrical feed is revived by an emergency outlet. The Triskatani liquid pouring from above hardens over the door.

Before you is the corridor leading into the security office. You realize, now, that Drufter never told you where specific traps were... probably part of their mistrust of you.

Would Farl have any clue? They were always closer.

What do my senses tell me?

Discomfort. The kind you associate with going into some place despite knowing bad things will happen.

Farl admits he knows little about the defenses himself, but he does recall automated turrets being a primary defense in Drufter's office.

"I had better wait here..." Farl says, indicating the threshold.

"Indeed," Wentar says, holding is lightsaber. He'll peer into the room first, to see if he can spot any indications of traps, before carefully entering the room, lightsaber lit.

How is your Observation?

Perception 3, Observation 1... Not the best but better give it a shot at least.
