Who is more powerful, Thor or the Silver Surfer?

Thor charges into battle with a smile on his face while the Surfer does it reluctantly. It all boils down to Thor being a warrior while the Surfer is a pacifist. It's that simple.

It another arc that has nothing to do when we actually got to see them both go all out on each other. Thor dominated the Surfer, twice.

You are just whining about the Surfer losing and are looking for anyway to ignore his words and find an excuse as to call this fight pis.

If that's what you have to tell yourself.

I also came up with a situation where Thor wanted to kill a beaten opponent while the Surfer wanted to spare Morg's life. The reason is because the Surfer thought it was wrong and doesn't have the killer instinct at all. Thor is a warrior born and understands perfectly well the parameters of battle.

Thor has also like I said beaten the Surfer so badly Warlock had to cart him off to save both of their lives in a handicap battle with Thor. That's how badly he owned the Surfer.

Here is a little treat with how much resolve Thor has. Don't ever try to compare the two of them again in that regard either.

You are trying to force your interpretation onto me. He was showing him how easily he can heal his board and himself.

Surfer lost. Point blank. He also had another crack at Thor with Warlock and he still lost.

Pis is still subjective and since you are a huge Surfer mark you want to argue pis. The whole arc was out to establish how much of a problem Thor was when mentally unbalanced and out of control. Surfer is nothing to Thor in that mindset. He threw mercy out the window.

So basically what you're saying is that you are either unable to debate by the rules of the forum or that you simply refuse to do so, correct? If so just let me know because you see I actually DO debate by the rules of the forum so if you're not going to there's not much point in a debate between us. It would be like me trying to play chess with someone who's playing checkers...

Norrin is -not- holding back.

Wasn't that like, one hit before Warlock showed up to help save Thor's soul?

I've read the ****ing comic, son.

The Celestials are naturally unaffected by anything, since they seem to exist in multiple places in time. Thor was able to mess up it's headpiece regardless. If he travelled to Tiamut, he WOULD be able to get inside his skull and ruin things.

I agree about getting him inside the headpiece. But ruin things? Don't think so.

You don't seem to get my point, I addressed it to your comment that Thor f***ed a Celestial up. He did not. Not even close. He managed to get inside the armor (w/c is no big feat really) and managed to pierce the brain plate. But it used up his most powerful attack and shattered Mjolnir. What did that do? It made Exitar *notice* him. That's it. Not hurt, no real damage at all. Exitar didn't even take the time to perform any aggressive/defensive action against him.

Strangely, after saying that Thor f***ed up the Celestial, now you're saying the Celestial was unaffected? Make up your mind. 😛

I don't think he was being literal.

Nowhere in the arc was he described as getting more powerful due to his mental stability.

He was battered, beatdown and defeated (in the ground semiconscious), he then proceed to ask the Valkyrie for strength.. Couldn't get more literal than that.. I'm thinking Valkyrie is more than just a hallucination, I mean she was able to injure the Goddess ???? She was a construct formed by Thors mind due to his fathers manipulation of his spirit.. Odin said it..

BRB just confirmed it in that scan..

The Mask.

...Surfer...was trying to save Thor, not beat him.

Forget for the moment whether or not Thor was drawing strength in this fight. Just imagine fighting someone roughly equal who's trying to kill you while you're trying not to hurt him. Who's still at a disadvantage? By the time you decide to cut loose, you've already taken more punishment than you've dished out.

This is why I consider Thor's win over Surfer here legit.*

* ...that, and I didn't particularly like the artwork.

Did you people read Blood and Thunder? I'll give you a quick recap. Scans will be up later.

- Thor's about to kill BRB
- Surfer stops by and tries to help
- Thor beats Surfer unconscious, BRB wakes up
- BRB puts Thor down and helps Surfer up
- Thor gets up, puts down BRB and fights Surfer
- Surfer sends away his board w/BRB
- Surfer's board returns to save him
- Thor and Surfer fight properly
- Surfer is beaten down and Warlock rescues him

Here are the scans for those who would deem llagrok a liar.

I actually think I prefer it to the Thor and Surfer comic artwork at the time 😄

I'd say post a scan for comparison, but I don't think I could handle it.

I bet you can draw better than this (I know I can). Either that, or this is deliberate, a 'style' I'm just not getting.

Oh, I just prefer the style because it's different. I can see why people dislike it 🙂

Regardless, Thor took down BRB, The Surfer and Warlock. There is also a decent speed feat there, Warlock saying that Thor is as "fast as the lightning he commands" and "quicker than I remembered"

The scans really doesn't show that Thor is stronger than the Surfer, only shows that he's a better fighter. 😛 And I think everyone can agree that Thor is a much better fighter than the Surfer is.

Thor must be one hell of a fighter then, if he can take out three people who are supposed to be his equals : D

Funny you of all people would say that. This is sooo typical of you. I have backed my claims with examples while you cling to what, really?

Pis is subjective. That is a fact.

Again, I accept your concession, but since you want to discuss the rules this thread is about who is more powerful. You have derailed me, then whined about, so answer the thread question by debating.

Thor is more powerful. The godblast point blank trumps anything the Surfer's most powerful attack. If you can beat it do so but if not remain silent. 🙂

He wasn't physically amping himself through her. Never was this described. You are interpreting the scan incorrectly. He amped himself later through the power gem.

BrB confirmed he was mad and that he was figuratively drawing strength from her. His madness couldn't physically amp him only the power gem in this story could do so in a literal fashion.

Warlock even states that Valkyrie is a figment of Thor's imagination and that she does not exist. That's why the soul gem didn't work on her. Why cannot people understand this?

Because she was so powerful through a freak accident she became physically real. I have no clue why anyone would really believe she physically amped him if they had read the entire story. He was figuratively drawing strength from his madness imo. Self belief is a powerful thing, but it was only through his own abilities.
