Vera-Kin sends her message to Kashyyyk for Barker to join them on Ord Coridari. Her Wookiee friend is confused at first why she would want him to be there, but when she explains the situation, he readily agrees to meet her there.
Rianna, in the meantime, gets a brief lecture from Myraline.
"I do not want him to end up like Quinn," Myraline states. "Rand is a dangerous individual; keep Colby out of harm's way, this isn't his fight. And I know you will take good care of my lightsaber. What happened to yours was a freak accident."
"Do you think I want a repeat of anything remotely like that disaster of an assignment?" Rianna replies, shuddering a bit, though also mildly annoyed that Myraline still lectures her. "I'll have him stay off-planet but easily contactable, or something. I've no intentions of risking anyone else. And I hope to retrieve my own lightsaber if at all possible."
"I cannot imagine what Rand would want with your weapon, if not just to humiliate you," Myraline says. "He knows how talented you are with a saber and what pride you retain for it, after all. Don't give in to his efforts, Rianna... I really cannot stress that enough. The Dark Side is something that can creep up on you; I have seen Knights who thought themselves invulnerable to its charms, only to realize that they are not. I love you as a daughter, Rianna. I would be devastated to hear that you are listening to the lectures of a senile sociopath instead of mine."
"I will be completely honest. Rand frightens me and I do not want to come face to face with him if I don't need to. But I also can't give into my fears," Rianna says, sighing. "I know I'm going to be in danger, and I know that everyone thinks I don't have the right temperament for a Jedi. But I should be safe enough with Master Vera-Kin, else the Council wouldn't have agreed to send me."
Myraline nods, but you still see the worry plainly in her face.
"Alright then," Myraline says. "I have said my piece. Now, let's get you and the Jedi Master back to Colby and you can be on your way..."
The transit by airspeeder back to where Colby is docked is a silent one; Myraline pilots but says nothing during the entire ride. When you have arrived, Colby already has the Viloc prepped for take-off.
"Ready, ladies?" Colby asks when Rianna and Vera-Kin approach.
"Then let's get to it!" Colby says, hopping up the ramp of the Gozanti cruiser as quickly as he can. With the Viloc already humming in anticipation of the journey ahead, it is a simple thing for Colby to start the engines. Steam spouts from the underside as Rianna and Vera-Kin, both determined to stop Rand's madness, march up the ramp and into the ship. Myraline watches you go quietly, merely waving.
It lifts off quietly and then rockets away from its docking bay, leaving Coruscant behind at a humble pace before Colby throws the cruiser lurching into lightspeed.
And then it drops out of lightspeed and slows to a leisurely pace once it has reached Coridarian space. Before you floats Ord Coridari, dusty and brown. Even from space you immediately notice the horrendous blight that marks its surface; the Great Coridarian Rift, a scar left on its face by the Sith.
"Here we are," Colby says. "Should be getting a buzz from the military base any second. Never been here before, but some of the other Ords are like that."
"Our base was not informed ahead of time that you would be arriving," the comms operator reports. "I will have to report to General Hirget before I can confirm your landing. Please remain in orbit until I receive his express permission or there will be consequences."
Vera-Kin is met with radio silence as she awaits the General's answer.
