STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

"What do we do if they don't allow us to land?" Rianna asks Vera-Kin, annoyed at the delay.

"I would be surprised if they did not allow us to land," Vera-Kin says. "But... finding Rand is more important than doing things the proper way, I think. We land anyway and make our way into the city of Ine. Anyone who stops us can take us to General Hirget and we can make things known to him concerning why we are here."

"If that's what it comes to, then that's what I think we should do, then."

The radio crackles back to life as the comms operator returns.

"General Hirget has okayed your landing at Ine's starport," he says. "Please proceed and do not vary from your course. The General will send an escort to retrieve you."

"I was hoping he'd agree..." Rianna comments quietly.

"So was I," Colby says. Now given the go-ahead, Colby allows the Viloc to descend into Ord Coridari's near-cloudless atmosphere smoothly, taking no variations in course. A stunt fighter races up to meet you, a Z95 Headhunter with Republic markings, and guides the starfreighter into the starport. Its pilot tells you via comms to dock in Bay 1214 before breaking off.

The Viloc sets down heavily before Colby turns off the engines.

"Am I going with you or staying here?" Colby asks.

"It would probably be safer for you to stay here," Rianna replies.

"Suits me just fine," Colby says. "I'll lower the ramp for you."

With the flick of a switch, the ramp descends and clunks into the hard earth of Ord Coridari's surface.

Vera-Kin adjusts her robes before looking up at Rianna.

"Shall we?" she says, before hobbling towards the exit ramp, ready to begin her search for her former Padawan.

"Well, there's no time to waste..." Rianna responds.

The two Jedi descend the ramp into the docking bay- where they are met by the sight of a darkly robed figure leaning against the sole entrance.

"Greetings, Jedi," he says.

Rianna says nothing, but is going to use Sense to see if anything feels weird to her.

That cold sensation that you detected on Reecee has returned, Rianna.

Being an experienced Jedi Master, Vera-Kin knows that sensation as well. It is the presence of the Dark Side.

"I don't like this..." she says quietly, watching the figure and taking out Myraline's lightsaber.

"Who are you?"

Sensing the Darkness about this robed figure, Vera-Kin uses the Force to quickly draw her lightsaber to her hand and ignite it, the teal blade flashing out as she calmly descends the ramp.

"Can I help you?" Vera-Kin asks.

The figure reaches up and drops his hood, revealing a man with roguish good looks, brown curly hair, and a thin scruffy beard. He wears his mouth in a distasteful sneer. He then sheds his dark robe and throws it in your direction, revealing the outfit of a traveler.

Rianna- you recognize the customized pistol at his belt, with the forward grip folded up under the barrel.

"My Master wanted me to welcome you to Ord Coridari," he says. "He was hoping you would come, Rianna. I do not know you, though, little one."

"Of course. One of Rand's students. And I am not so stupid as to walk into this trap alone," Rianna says, keeping her lightsaber in her hand.

"Good," he says. "That means you will actually be a challenge! I anticipate our first fight. But not now. I have more important things to attend to. I just wanted to see the competition again..."

"And just where is your Master hiding?"

"As if I'd tell you," he comments. "Rianna, I'm not going to make it that easy for you. You've got to do this yoursef... or with your little green friend here. If you catch us, great, we'll fight it out. Asking the bad guys where they are hanging out, though... huh. I expected better from you, the way Rand talks about you."
