STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Broken

Rianna is going to head over there, then, keeping her senses open for anything dangerous on the way.

"It must have been," Vera-Kin says, with agitation. She keeps in mind what the situation is that just occured, wondering what the Dark Jedi gained from it and what will come of it. "Take the prisoner, Barker. Be gentle; he's been duped."

Vera-Kin will go over to the journalist as Barker puts the miner in the landspeeder.

You are leaving Fort Ine now then, Rianna, passing out of the security tunnel. You do not sense anything peculiar.

-

The journalist looks down at you curiously.

"Can I help you?" he asks.

Not sensing anything peculiar is good, Rianna thinks.

Oh, and she'll contact Vera-Kin to let her know where she's gone, in case Vera-Kin returns to Fort Ine before Rianna's returned.

In that, Vera-Kin's comlink is blinking.

Heading down the main street is uneventful. The manner of dress on Ord Coridari seems to be one of antiquated fashion. Instead of classy business suits and modern fashion like what you see on Coruscant, people wear robes and silly hats and the like.

Considering that pretty much everything seems to be pretty antiquated, that's not too surprising...

And so it is that you do not take special interest in robe-wearing man that falls into step beside you. His hair is jet black and his skin pale.

"Hello," he says, nervously.

Ahh person...what do Rianna's senses say about this?

"What do you want?" she says, recoiling a bit from his sudden appearance.

Vera-Kin will hold up a hand for the journalist to wait a moment, then answers her comlink.

"What is it, Rianna?" Vera-Kin asks. "Are you okay?"

"I'm okay, I wanted to let you know I was heading to the Government House to see Hirget, but I appear to have picked up a follower..." she replies quietly.

Vera-Kin frowns.

"There has been an incident but I have it under control," Vera-Kin says firmly. "Lose whoever you've got on your back."

Putting away her comlink, she returns to the journalist.

"What are you writing?" Vera-Kin asks.

You feel cold, Rianna.

"To meet you," he says. "Formally. Rand said it would help my confidence to put myself directly in your presence."

-

"Buy a copy of the Coridarian Tribune tomorrow and you'll find out," the journalist says, before turning his back on you.

Barker has the miner secured in the landspeeder.

"Well, do me a favor and remove yourself from it, then, as I have things to do..." Rianna mutters, putting away her comlink. "Unless you'd be willing to tell me exactly what he's up to. Why do you even listen to him?"

"Why do you abide by the rules of the Order?" he asks.

You do not get the overwhelming hubris that you get from the scruffy Dark Jedi. Fear seems to be more this one's ally, from the way he seems surprised at what he himself has just said.

"I was raised in the Order, they're really quite simple rules, and they make sense," Rianna replies after a moment, becoming very uncomfortable and wanting to get away from him.

"Then my answer is the same," he says, quietly. "My name is Vash Bloodcarver. I already know yours. Rand required us to get to know you and your Master... but I cannot tell you his plan, I am afraid."

"Of course not. Well, unfortunately, I don't quite care what Rand wants you to do, and you'll learn nothing from me. I have things to do, and chatting with someone who was involved with nearly killing me isn't exactly on my to-do list," Rianna says.

"We were not trying to kill you," Vash says. "Just the policemen."

"I have little reason to trust anything you say," Rianna replies.

"I did not expect you to," Vash says. "Deception is essentially a tenent of the Dark Side, or so I have been told. Goodbye."

With that, Vash slinks back into the crowd almost as flawlessly as he had come out of it, just as you come to the Government House. It is an impressive modern structure with great windows. A group of miners is shouting in protest in front of it, but they are not blocking anyone from going in or out.
