Guild Wars 2 finally starts to come to life

Wow, I didn't think anyone disliked this game.

Other than Bioware probably.

His complaint about overflows is just really stupid and completely wrong.

In other news, I went on a crafting spree today and I'm up to like 260ish with tailoring.

And learned how to craft a set of armor that I've been coveting for years, ever since I first saw concept art of it. I have to get to level 60 to wear it with the stats I use on it, but hee! I have dragonfly armor! 😄

Servers just went down. A lot of very unhappy people several hours into dungeons etc. Things like this make me more minded to take it all easy for a while.

And yet I just keep on powering through...though I'm currently a full 20 levels ahead of my personal storyline, heh.

Level 61 and finished up my dragonfly armor, including spending a bit of money (I'm just shy of three gold right now) on some dyes. Love it.

Also I love my stats. They amuse me so much. We can all see what my priorities are.

(and this is without having salvaged the runes from my previous armor to apply, too...)

Hello there, Tequatl.

😂 I actually did the frog juicer heart the day before yesterday. And the attack bunny one was one of my favorite things ever.

Also, when Tequatl spawned yesterday, a few of us stayed in the area and when it appeared, we all went "Dragon! Hurry up!" on map chat and I swear everyone in the zone just descended on that area. The nice thing too is in huge groups like that, people tend to naturally figure out what they need to do to get things done. You don't really need to organize or coordinate stuff as people do it naturally. It's awesome.

Oh jumping puzzles. They are hard, but I actually am liking them a lot. I already did what is one of the hardest, and the last one I did I managed to not fall at all!

Also, the gold-selling thing:

ArenaNet is not selling gold for gems. When you use gems to buy gold on the trading post, you are just trading with another player who is looking to spend their gold on some gems. It's all player-driven and player-supplied.

People always seem to mess this up.

Wheeeeee, knocked out two more dungeons tonight - we went and did Caudecus's Manor, and then after that decided to move on to Twilight Arbor.

CM was really, really easy. There was one dicey part where a whole swarm of enemies attacked at once and we thought they'd overrun us, but we managed to pick them off pretty quickly and easily. We had more trouble with the single enemy just before that! There were like five points of interest on the map that we couldn't reach, though, so I can't wait to go back in there on explorable mode and fully go through the place.

TA was also fun, but it was a lot more difficult. It wasn't difficult like AC, though, where stuff just one-shots you and you have to constantly respawn and run back. The bosses instead were ones that required some actual thought and planning to defeat. There was one in particular that we had some real trouble with, but we figured out a trick to win that fight after a couple false starts and then it wasn't bad. The fight at the very end was another that took a couple minutes to figure out. Also, Caithe makes me sad, though Rytlock calling her a "conniving vegetable" was pretty funny, and Faolain is a really horrible person. I've made comparisons between the sylvari and Nightmare Court and the Jedi and Sith before, but damn did this dungeon make that even more apparent.

Both were way better than AC was. And considering how "no thanks" I usually am about playing with other people, I'm really enjoying doing so. I'll never join random groups, but playing with friends and guildies is great.

Yeah did the Manor yesterday and it was very striking how much easier it was than the Catacombs. Even playing with randoms, I didn't die. That's a weird difficulty spike on the first dungeon- it might well put a lot of people off them.

Meanwhile, here is the new official trailer. And, err... what?

I think we're planning on tackling Sorrow's Embrace pretty soon. But yeah, when we were doing CM we got to the end and were like "...there's no way this is it. There has to be more."

Yeah that trailer's a bit weird.

Hey Ush, how far have you gotten in the personal story? Have you done Battle for Claw Island yet?

Actually I have. I've tried not to progress far on my main but the xp I got for a. crafting and b. going out material hunting for alts (also c. going out and getting copper to sell for cash to make up for accidentally binning two gold (which I am not in the least bit annoyed about... nope...)) started to get him so far ahead of his story that I went and caught up. Just done the Pale Tree Orr prediction mission one, which is a couple after Claw Island.

...how the hell did you do that?

Claw Island made me go "No! AHHHHH!", because I'd gotten really attached to Sieran (my Priory mentor). She was the best damn character in the game! 🙁

I really loved the Orr one, and I found a couple NPCs in there that were named after friends of mine, which brings the total I've found up to three! That was just such a nifty quest though.

And...hah. My quest level is 55, my character level is 72. Yeah.

It took talent.

Yes, it seems they wanted to bin the companion you had so they could unify everyone for the final storyline sections. I'm actually disappointed not to have spent any more time with my companion from the very beginning that was my character creation choice. He just buggered off.

So my friend finnally got the game. Can I play her story missions with her if I'm a different race?

Yup.

Just have to be in party with them right?

Yup!

So long as you're in a party and the same zone when one person starts the quest, it'll ask if they want to bring you along as well.

Halfway to level 78, btw.
