Man this is turning into 24 where only Jack Bauer is safe and everyone else is likely to get killed off at any moment. I admit I did not see the switcharoo with the sex coming last ep, but they got lazy this episode making it obvious what Ilithyia was going to try to do from that first arena scene on.

Part of me was waiting for Spartacus to get out of it similar to how Maximum did in Gladiator when they then cheered "Maximums, Maximus The Merciful!"

Agree on all points. Such a haunting episode. Showing Varro finally coming to terms with his wife and Ilythia watching them train did make it obvious but his death was effective nonetheless. On a lighter note, I would smash Ilythia regardless. Her body is..perfect.

He probably would have if Varro didn't force the sword.

I really enjoy how the show is willing to kill off characters almost on a whim. Reminds me of Oz.

OZ became too predictable though, imo. Anal-rape, death, anal-rape, death.

I suspect the German twins will come to the front now, that Blue Lagoon boy was killed. Though I did like him.

I really liked episode 11. The episode moved the plot forward by a large margin and Batiatus is again the real enemy of Spartacus. Except this time, Spartacus knows what Batiatus did.

I wasn't really feeling the episode that much but I appreciate the way the plot has moved. We only have two episodes left anyway. Plus, I was a little upset that there wasn't much nudity. 😬

That being said, sh*t is about go down.

Think they'll wait until Season 3 to have Spartacus escape the ludus and begin his campaign against Rome, or do next in 2?

I'm guessing 3, but don't see how they'll make an entire Season with Spartacus knowing the truth and still playing along.

That is assuming there is anything past Season 1 seeing as Andy Whitfield has cancer. They said it was caught so early that it is "very treatable" but I would never assume anything when dealing with a disease like this.

Obviously, if he's dead, then there's no show, unless they replace him in lieu of canceling. I'm assuming he'll recover as expected.
