Wait. You mean Ultima? Zidane (with his team) were defeated by that attack. And in the second fight with Trance Kuja they were killed.
Cloud was stabbed multiple times in his chest by Sephiroth's Masamune and survived. I don't see Zidane doing the same.

As much as I like Zidane, he doesn't have the kind of feats that AC gives Cloud, so he loses.

Yes, this is FFVII Cloud, but Kosmic King tried to said that AC Cloud would lose. And honestly Zidane has no feats in his game, none that I recall.
Zidane does have much feats, such as surviving in the ground zero of Invincibles blast, which destroyed most of Alexandria, tanking Iifa trees roots hitting him at high speeds, being stated by Garland and Ultimania to be superior to Kuja, who tanked Bahamuts city block+ level Mega Flare, suggesting that Zidane has the destructive power to hurt Kuja, and finally his speed feat of outrunning Iifa trees roots. (I am not yet allowed to post links here, so type "Final Fantasy IX Ending - part one" on YouTube, and watch 09:00-->
I can't see how Cloud would pass Zidanes multi-cityblock level durability, I recall Clouds best destructive feats put him at building-skyscraper level?

Yeah, the entire party survived the Invincible's blast because they pretty much escaped. Kuja never tanked Bahamut's Mega Flare, watch the scene carefully and notice how the blasts are being spreaded along the shore and Kuja immediately takes his dragon and flies. Zidane has no strength feats nor magical abilities to suggest he is on par with Kuja, he's is superior to Kuja just because he has access to the power of Trance. That's stated in the Ultimania. He lost to Beatrix three times with his party, so that also suggests he isn't as experienced in combat as an elite fighter. As for outrunning Lifa Tree roots? He had to ride them. And again, the entire party was defeated by Kuja's Ultima and then killed, so how's that a feat for Zidane? The only ''durability'' feat I recall from him is surviving a big fall inside the Lifa Tree at the end of the game, but that can be due his evident nimbleness. Cloud survived a fall when he was a kid and then a greater one in the first disc of his game.
Are you using AC Cloud? This is FFVII Cloud.

1. No, he clearly was on top of the castle when Alexandria was destroyed. He was knocked out for three days from it.
2. Yes he tanked it, not completely but was still inside it.
3. = Zidane is overall superior to Kuja. Trance is part of his abilities, so unless its excluded, my point still holds.
4. That was before he had "grew".
5. He was outrunning them for a while, as you can see from the video.
6. He didn't die from it the first time, so yes it is durability feat.
7. It wasn't only a fall, watch it from YouTube, those roots were hitting him at very high speeds.

1. Once Zidane reunites with Garnet and Eiko they escape. Blank says they escaped after stealing a ship. Zidane never tanked the Invincible's blast, that's ridiculous.
2. No, he didn't. The shock-waves of the Flares alone made a cut in his forehead. Kuja was testing Bahamut's potential to then control it via the Invincible.
3. That's not stated in the Ultimania, though. Yes, Trance is part of Zidane's abilities, which Kuja lacked. Zidane's lifespan as well as his emotions are included as part of his superiority. 'Superior' doesn't necessarily translates to: Power alone.
4. What do you mean? Zidane wasn't experienced in battle as Beatrix was.
5. Not really, once the roots started chasing him he had to ride them.
6. That's like saying I can tank cars just because I survived by chance being hit by one. It's not like Ultima bounced off of Zidane's body, he was defeated like an insect. And he never took the whole attack by himself either.
7. As I said, the fall can be nimbleness since cats also can survive incredible falls without being super durable. And Zidane is known to be nimble. The roots were hitting him? I don't recall that part. I recall they tried to hit him, though.
