The Pokedex doesn't make any sense.

If Muk is so poisonous, why doesn't anybody wear biosuits in Celadon City (where the Pokemon is uncommonly found)?

If Magcargo is hotter sun, why does life still exist in the Pal Park mountains? Why can't I beat Rhydon (who can only withstand 3,600 degrees) with it?

If an Alakazam has an IQ of 5000, why does it stay in a pokeball, say only its name, and why hasn't it developed technology to capture Mewtwo and all legendary Pokemon?

Are Tyranitars naturally calm? If not, why haven't they changed the landscape of Pal Park?

If Gyarados is such a city-buster, why didn't the Red one cause great levels of destruction at Lake of Rage?

If Drowzee can eat dreams, why can't it naturally learn Dream Eater?

One of Raichu's Pokedex entries mention Indian Elephants. Where are they in the Pokemon games? If real-life animals exist in the Pokemon world, why isn't there any non-Pokemon dogs and cats in any of the games?

If Xatu can see into the future, why can't it use this ability to defeat every Pokemon in existence (after all, it should know their every move).

The stats are what don't make sense, and that is for gameplay balance.

Okay, I'm gonna try and explain🙄

Muk in Celadon? WTF? 😐

Nothing on that...Also, for gameplay. Magcargo would be unfair to Rhydon users.

Alakazam still has the nature of a beast?

So the player can still have access. Also, the DS is too limited to have constantly changing terrain for just ONE Pokemon. 😐

Cause the player already beat it?

But it CAN learn Dream Eater. 131

Pokemon are obviously the dominant species. All the other animals have been overrun. Also, real life fish have been seen in the anime once.

It can't because it lacks the power to do so.

The end.🙂

The stats make more sense than all the ridiculous Pokemon entries (is Machamp powerful enough to solo Groudon and Kyogre?)

Since when? And nah, the stats make a great deal less sense, and 90% of your arguments against it can be explaiend away as "gameplay".

Stats aren't completely gameplay. Electrode isn't faster than Rapidash for nothing.

Yes, he is. He's fast enough, with otherwise horrendous stats, so that he can use his signiature move: explosion.

Electrode's speed stat is based on being round. So downhill, it could feasibly be the fastest thing in Pokemon.

Otherwise I'm pretty sure Electrode either rolls around or hops around, hardly moving.

Anime isn't canon

Oh, so now you don't want it to be canon?

Ironically, Mewtwo is the one who made pokeballs that can even capture pokemon already in pokeballs.

I actually find the anime far more canon than the Pokedex. It actually makes more sense even though there are BS moments like Pikachu hurting ground types with electricity. But anime seems to be less canon to your friends than the ridiculous Pokemon encylopedia.

Only in the anime. In the games, it falls helpless to a Master Ball.

Actually, it shows the opposite, for gameplay balance stats cannot represent a pokemon's actual abilities. They were not thinking when they built the stats, the pokedex is the canon aspect.

I think not, since if the pokedex is cannon, Tyranitar is literally invincible. One of it's entries says it's body cannot be hurt by any type of attack.

Now, I'm pretty sure that it's possible to beat a Tyranitar in pokemon. I'd say they weren't thinking when they made the entries, not the stats. The states are the actual GAME. I doubt they took making those lightly.

Not true at all. I gave multiple reasons the pokedex was garbage outside of stats, if you bothered to read it. In fact, I think the pidgeot one was the only one that talked about stats.

Also, how is it MY inadequacy when THEY make something that doesn't make sense?

Actually it's a lot easier to say that the stats are bullshit, because in all honesty some of the things they've done with stats are absolutely retarded.

Whatever you're smoking can probably take down a herd of elephants. When did you stop watching it?

When did I stop? Around the time of G/S. Pikachu wasn't that strong anymore. Also, I don't smoke 😮‍💨

The anime has the worst display of consistent power I've ever seen. You saying it's more canon than the anime tells me you haven't watched in a long time.

Hell, they are actually at the point where objects get larger and smaller depending on the angle. At one point the same Grotle knocked a Rhyperior back a good ten feet while the rock they are fighting on is shown at a different angle as being smaller in diameter.

Then, that same Rhyperior fails to stop a second charge and gets pushed back god knows how far, easily crossing the whole rock's diameter. The Rhyperior also lacks the strength to halt this Grotle's charge, but smashes a rock on the top of Grotle and shatters the large pillar of rock they are on.

All this in about forty seconds of anime.

That's common in childish anime.

And that makes it okay?

Canonically in the games, Mewtwo was never caught, seeing as he was still running around in HG/SS even though Red had an encounter with him in R/B/Y.
