Confirms that Ganon will not make an apperance and that it is set before OoT.

Didnt we already know those tidbits?

Not sure. I think we assumed it but I hadn't seen it confirmed anywhere.

November 18 for Europe.

November 20 for North America.

Note to self: Complete game in two days then come here and unleash tagless spoilers.

Hahaha.....let me guess?

Link defeats the evil wrong doer? And it's Ganon? Or Ganondorf?

Wow, I've never heard that joke before.

Seriously, you must be some kind of comedic genius Smas.

I am.

But it's true isn't it?

For the most part, yeah. But it's never bothered me. I always find the story executed well enough that the main villain turning out to be Ganon is just a bonus.

Perhaps it's the fan in me, but I've never had any trouble getting sucked in to the game and enjoying it so that something like that wouldn't irritate me.

Again, Ganon hasn't been the main villain in over half the games. It wouldn't be shocking if he wasn't in this one.

I thought it had been confirmed that Ganon isn't in this one?

I'd like to submit that Ganon, Mandrag Ganon, Ganondorf Dragmire, Gannon, and Ganondorf are the same being/creature.

So if any form of an ultimate bad guy with the name "Gan..." appears in the game, it's still the same bad guy.

Ganon has been absent in seven games of the series: The Minish Cap, Four Swords, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening, and Zelda II.

Given that Skyward Sword takes place before OoT and Ganondorf's rise to power, it only makes sense that Ganon won't appear in any form. Ghirahim appears to be the main villain.

Aye, pretty sure its been confirmed.

Not bad to change him out once in a while. They already keep the same protagonist(obviously) and role, princess and role, other characters (Goron's etc) and most of the same weapons(Master Sword, Hylian Shield, Boomerang, Bow and arrows etc). So a few fresh things ain't so bad.

----------------------------------------------------

Some interesting things found in the demo.

^The 5 points;
1- You don't need to aim at the screen to select items, use the bow and arrows etc.
2- Link suffers fatigue from over sprinting, executing a chain of complex moves or climbing.
3- His shields have a 'break down meter', enough damage and they break.
4- Enhanced swordplay with the power moves draining his fatigue levels.
5- He can do a small run-up to walls.

And the release date is November 20, 2011 in case anyone didn't know.

Yes, we already know the release date, it's on this page 😛

Not sure they made the best decision with that date, though. Not to mention, **** Nintendo and their love of Sunday releases...

Oh yeah, I even commented on it... fail o_o

Whats wrong with the release date? (Besides being right on ACR's tail)

It's right on the tale of a ton of huge games, is the thing. ACR, Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls, Uncharted...sure, the Wii mostly caters to a different audience than would normally play those games, but there's a lot of overlap between people who buy Zelda and people who'll buy one or more of those games.

Basically, there's going to be some very heavy competition, and this is very late in the game for them to announce a November release.

They also hit the very tail end of game releases for the year, coming out the Sunday before Black Friday. Generally publishers try and aim for a week and a half to two weeks before that date if they're going for a November release.

For me, since OoT (maybe even ALttP), console Zelda games have been guarenteed to sell like any of the iPhones. Nintendo is obviously aware of that, too.

*waves hand like a Jedi*

You will buy Skyward Sword.

Nintendo must be positive that their fans will be loyal enough to retain those high sales even with that level of competition and timing.

Never noticed that Black Friday thing..

Exactly. No one will care. If anthing, Black Friday will get it more purchases.
