The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Edge is notorious for grading harshly? I might be thinking of someone else, but I'm pretty sure they give Modern Warfare 3, of all games, a 9?

Joystiq, which I think review games fairly well gave Skyward Sword 4.5/5. They basically said it's the best playing Zelda game and a masterpiece except for the fact that there's a lot of filler in the game to make the game longer.

As well, they also hinted that it's basically the same game as every other Zelda but you can get past it because it's really well designed.

I never finished Twilight Princess, maybe I'll dust off my Wii and give this a rent.

I've never gotten more than 1/4 of the way through a Zelda game haermm

a 10?

Is this game... is this game amazing?

Might it be true? or are these just fanboy reviewers?

I expected nothing less than a perfect 10. I mean, after all, Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Majora's Mask, and, naturally, Ocarina of Time all scored perfect 10's.

However, I agree that calling Skyward Sword "the greatest Legend of Zelda game" is, indeed, a very bold statement. I'll have to complete the game first before I can make a statement on whether or not I agree.

GT gave it a good 9.1 score but the review was pretty scathing at times.

Good lord, the starting part of this game is so twee and tedious. They have made the menu cursor weirdly sluggish also.

Gamespot's review of this game was pretty brutal considering the rest of the sites gave it such a good score.

Basically said there is a ton of padding to make the game longer and it's pretty formulaic. Joystiq basically said the same thing but gave it a higher score.

I'm certainly disappointed so far. Two hours in and I've never been so bored with a Zelda game.

That sucks.

Gamespot also said the game revolves with the same sequence of "fetch quest, dungeon, fetch quest, repeat".

I'm on the fence about getting it. I'm going to sell my Wii this winter because there is no point in keeping it but I was going to get Skyward Sword, beat it and then sell it.

It's picking up a tad. I think they misjudged the start and the controls are not 100% but it has possibilities. If I ever actually get to a damn temple I'll see how they are.

That is one thing mostly every reviewer said and that was the dungeons were some of the best in the Zelda franchise.

I kind of figured that would be the case. The first few hours of most any Zelda game are very tedious and slow as the story progresses.

How are the watercolor graphics working out? I like how they blended the cartoonish graphics of Wind Waker with the realistic style of Twilight Princess. This new style looks to be very promising.

I just paid off my special edition of Skyward Sword with gold Wiimote, and I plan to pick it up tomorrow when Gamestop opens.

In all honesty I am not a fan of the graphic style- I preferred both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess- but I think that's a very personal thing.

I'm about to walk out the door to go to Gmestop and pick up my copy of Skyward Sword!

I'll definitely have to pick up some fresh AA batteries, too, since I haven't touched my Wii in weeks.

The last time I even played my Wii was when I downloaded Chrono Trigger from the VC Store.

I decided to pick it up.

Might as well end my Nintendo Wii life on how it started, playing Zelda games.

After I'm done, selling it. I checked the calendar, I played it for three days last winter. Went further down and noticed I played the Wii 2 times in 2 years. That's pretty bad.

Me, too. My Wii is nothing more than an ornament.

That's why I'm selling it.

And not bothering with the Wii U. The past two generations I've had Nintendo consoles and they've been the least used.

I have to wait a bit till I open mine so I haven't played it. Ush, is it possibly and issue with resetting your wiimote sensitivity level? I've noticed, for example, that I have to turn it down a bit for metroid prime trilogy or else the aiming goes a bit wonky.

This game is AWESOME.

The controls are a dream, wtf, Gamespot? Lol.
