...And yet he did it. So I ask you (again) why he wouldn't do so when he was in an even better position (to get an even better result)?
Yoda pushing the lightning back seemed like a one trick pony that made him very weak afterward. If you recall: after Yoda preformed that trick and was blown off of the pod, his force grip wasn't even powerful enough for him to maintain his grip on the second senate pod he fell onto (the one he left scratches on.)

Plus he you know.... Ran away afterward. none

Cool, glad we agree. 👆

because its easier to dodge something then it is to tank it hurrdurr 😐

watch the fight lol

it was yoda trying to tank the lightning that resulted in him not killing sideous in the first place 😬

Yoda pushing the lightning back seemed like a one trick pony that made him very weak afterward.

This is irrelevant. If that particular segment of the script was accurate, then Yoda (who at that point still had his lightsaber) could have used that "one trick pony" right then and there and either killed Palpatine with the reflected lightning or attacked him with his lightsaber (since Palpatine was disarmed).

Which is, again, irrelevant.

I addressed the bulk of your post, I just didn't quote it.

...No, it was the coiled lightning exploding that resulted in Yoda's defeat; the script does not indicate that the same thing was happening here.

But nice try. 👆

I think it's clear that

Spoiler:
Kas'im dies.

that just proves my point 😐

there was no coiled explosion because there was no force duel going on. yoda dodged the lightning instead of trying to force it back.

im glad youve conceded that point ✅

It really doesn't. Not unless you can prove that the lightning would have coiled had Yoda continued to deflect it.

Get back to me when you have something more.

no actually it does even without proving that, which is why i win lol

This is actually a good point.

Eh, not sure if I understand. Do you think Yoda was blocking Palpatine's lightning with one arm, and had his saber ignited in the other? Or do you think he was blocking with both hands, could have tanked the resulting lightning kaboom, then reignited his lightsaber and slew Palpatine before he had enough time to defend?

Kinda unlikely.

Feel free to think so.

He might have deflected it with his lightsaber.

How so? Palpatine's lightning blew the saber out of Yoda's hands in the film:

YODA unleashes a ferocious assault on PALPATINE, causing him to almost go over the edge. The Dark Lord drops his lightsaber but recovers with a BLAST OF ENERGY from his hands that surrounds YODA. YODA is deflecting the Sith Lord's lightning bolts.

^ That's the segment of the script, verbatim. I don't think that Yoda would have had time to put his lightsaber away and then raise his hands to deflect it, do you?

^This is better than watching the actual movies.

*pulls over a tub of popcorn, sits back, and enjoys the ensuing battle.*

I'm not sure how to take that, actually. If Yoda was able to deflect the lightning with his saber in that script-scene, then why would it be blown out of his hands in the film..?

Too many questions... g_twitch

I'm sorry to hear that, because such a response ultimately proves me correct -- this scene doesn't fit and is therefore non-canon.
