STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION - Desecration

Galder urges Taiza to keep driving toward it, trying to see if he recognizes any of the scenery from his vision. He remembers the plateau, at least.

You remember mountains, though when you saw them in your vision, they had been active volcanoes in the midst of erupting. Now they are just as cold and dead as everything else.

"We'll have to slow down to cross these," Taiza said.

"Good. Passes like these would be too easy for an ambush..." Rura comments.

"Indeed," Galder says. "Can't have the tables turning on us."

Galder stays watchful, knowing that his senses aren't quite cooperating.

You navigate your way in slowly, then, all three keeping a close watch out for anything that's amiss.

You think you sense something not far ahead...what would you like to do?

"Stop," Galder says. "I sense something."

Galder would like to sit and try to figure out what he is sensing for a moment.

Taiza grumbles slightly but slows the speeder to a stop, drawing her pistols as soon as it halts.

You sit and meditate a bit...ahh. There. A small patrol not far ahead of you. You can tell that they aren't as strong as those scouts you fought earlier, but you can't sense numbers or anything like that.

Galder opens his eyes.

"There's a patrol ahead," Galder reports. "I can't tell how many guys. Can you drive us around?"

"Sure thing. We'll go quietly..." Taiza says. Moving more or less at a crawl, you guys clear the next corner.

Small patrol, about six guys, but they look to just be small change. They haven't even noticed you yet.

Can they be avoided entirely? Can Galder sense anyone else about?

You don't sense anyone else in the vicinity.

And maybe. You're not sure.

Galder wants to try and tells Taiza so.

She nods, though Rura looks at you a bit oddly. You do find yourself wishing you had some sort of mind trick ability right about now, just to be sure.

Either luck or the Force is with you, though, and they don't notice you as you make your way past. The fact that they seem distracted with making dinner around a fire probably helped.

Perfect.

"I'd rather just keep going," Galder says. "It would have been a sore way to alert other patrols by wiping out that one. Not worth it. I have bigger banthas to burn."

Galder rides along in the speeder, hoping his decision doesn't come back to bite him.

"I suppose," Rura comments. Taiza speeds up once you're clear of where the patrol was, though still is moving relatively slowly through the mountain passes. She seems a bit uneasy, though.

"What's up?" Galder asks Taiza, noticing her unease.

"Huh? Oh, I'm fine...just don't like this place," she responds, concentrating on driving. "It's too weird."

"Former Sith strongholds tend to have that feeling," Galder says, lighting up a cigarette and taking a puff. "A lot of restless ghosts in all this dust..."

"And you know that so well?" Taiza responds.

"No," Galder says. "I just make ghosts, I don't hold seances with 'em."

"And what do you call that you did there? Just sitting there for a moment and knowing what was ahead?" she asks. "If that's not talking to ghosts, I don't know what is."

Rura makes a slightly amused noise behind you at that.
