That is what I will do then

Anglomir is glad to have the Elf, seeing as Ellothiel is only half...

(just teasing)

Anglomir will escort Lacharon while he forages, by reason of safety in numbers.

Menelacar would usually go with his Gondorian brethren, but feels resting his leg would probably be better....

Ok, so, I'll keep this quick I think.

Lacharon spends a day Foraging for Herbs. He rolls a 65 on his die roll, giving him an 82. Ideally, it's best to beat 100 on these rolls but that's often pretty hard at low level. He gets enough with a roll like that to get enough herbs to make something to stop Menelacar's leg wound turning bad, though it is a Herbalism roll to prepare it. He also gets just a single dose of enough stuff (I have the names somewhere, but will need to scour the rulebook which is insanely badly organised) to make a batch of stuff that restores Hits (you can;t use them mid-combat! No healing ptions really in LOTR. You use it between fights).

Now, a lot of this is down to time factoring. Lacharon could make those Herbalism rolls. Or, he could spend the evening making Weather Watching and Foraging rolls to sort out a better campsite for you guys. Remember, successful rolls get you xp!

Ideally, of course, you'd get Ellothiel to do the Herbalism...

I don't have weather watching, actually. Is that a problem? Lacharon will do the foraging for a better campsite though.

I'll hit Lana up for the Herbalism rolls.

Been busy with stuff...

Ellothiel will do the Herbalism rolls and patch up Menelacar.

Ok! Ellothiel rolls an 83 on her Herbalism roll. That's a good roll as is... but Ellothiel, you can spend a Power Point to get +40 onto that roll by using your power...

-

Not quite as foolproof without Weather Watching, Lacharon, but Foraging is the big one. You roll a 52 on your campsite foraging. Just like Ellothiel, you have the option of boosting that roll via your power!

Meanwhile, I am interested in establishing some character and background for you guys. For example, I;d be interested to know how you got here!

Anglomir and Menelacar- you are both from Gondor. Did you take a boat all the way around the coast, or did you take an overland route?

-

Lacharon- you started in the Mirkwood, on the far side of the Misty Mountains. You had three potential routes to take to get to the west.

- You could have gone south and then taken the main road through Rivendell- that's the longest route as the wolf walks, but it's the route most would take because of the road. Of course, you are not always a road person.

- You could have gone north and crossed the mountains at their more accessible points there- it's cold but doable. Only problem is, you've heard foul things lurk in the northern mountains these days

- Or you could have gone straight west, through the lands of the Eotheod Horse Tribes (fierce but not evil men, who you would probably just stay away from) and straight over the mountains at their hardest point. You'd need to be a specialist to cross there, but that's what you are!

-

Talin, I forget; which Dwarven kingdom are you from? I am sure you did pick one at one point.

And Ellothiel- who are your parents?

-

Palidan- I am CERTAIN you picked your origin so I must have mislaid it. You are from Lothlorien, yeah?

I have one power point per day, right? I think I'll use it then.

Lacharon would have been most interested in the northern route, also to see for himself whether the stories he heard are true.

Sure, I'll use a point for that.

And...hmm. I had actually come up with some background for Ellothiel at some point, but I've no idea where I saved it. She's a half-elf of the "mother was an elf, father was human" type, she's from Lorien.

Ok, that means Ellothiel's roll is a 150! A massive success!

Lacharon's is a 109- your power got it through the important 100 Threshold.

Note these rolls in the mighty deeds thread! They score you, especially ones past 100.

-

Ok, Ellothiel has successfully treated Menelacar's leg! His penalty is gone. Note if that trap had actually been made of metal, it's more than a roll to spontaneously cure such a wound- you need a specific spell for it- or some very decent herb supplies! In fact, I might type the relevant herb page out for you.

Ellothiel also has made one dose of five Draaf leaves. Each Draaf leaf used restores 1D10 hits. Not bad for starters!

-

Lacharon has been gathering materials for a proper campsite. It s this that means that Menelacar and Anglomir can rest properly- they recover all of their hits. It's also much more concealed than before, so you will not betray your presence so.

-

A new day! Time to get going! Lacharon- you know little of Dunlendings, but if looking for Men in the wild, you look for evidence of campfires.

Orcs are much harder to track unless you have their scent- but Palidan's idea of looking for the animals they prey on is not at all bad.

Indeed, some of you are good at influencing or even communicating with animals, I think...

Meanwhile, Lacharon- well, your journey here was a hard one! BOY were those rumours about the north correct! You had to retreat from goblin patrols and cross the mountains at the hard point instead, and were much delayed., Turns out you virtually ran into this place the Men call 'Angmar'. Orcs sometimes grow strong- that is the way of things. But these ones were organised in such a way you have not seen in some while.

After that, it was a trek across Cardolan, avoiding the Dunlendings (easily done- not a subtle people). You crossed the border into Arthedain and virtually ran into Lord Farael's army, offering your services.

-

Ellothiel- well now that's an interesting one for you to work with, because for sure no Men go to Lorien so your mother must have gone out into the world. Any idea why?

Menelacar came via the sea!

I sent you a detailed character background quite a while ago - do you still have it?

Ellothiel's pretty good with animals!

And I've a feeling those herbs will come very in handy in the future...

Ellothiel- well now that's an interesting one for you to work with, because for sure no Men go to Lorien so your mother must have gone out into the world. Any idea why?

If I remember what I came up with correctly, she wasn't happy to just stay there and wanted to see the outside world for herself...probably a bit unusual, haha. More or less the same reason that Ellothiel herself has gone out and is here instead of in Lorien (that and she doesn't feel entirely like she really belongs there, despite having chosen immortality).

Anglomir probably took to the seas as well, though he has no sea-legs for such an adventure.

And sadly, Anglomir is not going to be much help in the animals department. At least not if they need to be influenced or talked to. Definitely not his thing.

He will definitely escort Menelacar wherever he intends to go of course.

Nah, this animal stuff is not quite your thing!

So it is time to go in any case, and I need to know who is going for Dunlending campsites and who on an animal quest. Or if you are all concentrating on one.

Or you can also do more Foraging roils if you want more stuff. Your time is yours!

Anglomir wants to go with whomever is on the hunt for Dunlending campsites, though as mentioned he will follow Menelacar wherever he goes.

Lacharon will look for the Dunlendings as well.

Looks like campsites!
