Question.....When the OP says this:

Harry, Voldemort, Snape, Dumbledore & Hermanie find themselves in the LOTR universe at Helms Deep. Reinforcing them are 300 civilian Yeomen and a battalion of Elves. Acompanying them are Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli. Opposition is 10,000 Uruk-ai (same as seen in film LOTR: TT). Do they survive the battle or die with their magic wands?

Why are we even discussing Balrogs?

Idk, I guess because we agreed the wizards can hold the army off for a while before they get tired and stuffs or their charms wear off, and the arrows blot out the sun, but this time, they wont be fighting in the shade. They will be DYING in the shade.

The wizards would waste the army. Voldemort would solo them.

Fact remains that there is no way to prove whether or not any HP spell would or would not work on the Balrog. For all we know, it can be vanished.

But what we do know is that size is not part of Gamp's laws of transfiguration.

And therefore the onus is on the one saying that HP magic would have any effect in Middle Earth, to prove that it does.

And since you can't, you have to accept that the Wizards probably get stuffed (Again).

Ahahahaha, fail. Powers and abilities work no matter where the fight is located, man. MVF unwritten rule. Actually, common sense.

Yet you tried arguing before that the force wouldnt work in all galaxies.

Fail-age.

I did no such thing.

I'm sorry, but when the most advanced thing vanished ever is a kitten, we can assume it would not be done to the Balrog.

By your logic, one should be able to vanish the planet Earth, if size is no object.

But was it a particularly powerful and vicious kitten?

I am not at liberty to say.

This:

Far more feasible.

Turn the Balrog into a can of soda.

Can you quote the part from that wiki-link that makes you believe this to be possible?

There's the part in the movies when Barty Crouch turned Draco into a ferret.

You lie again.

You tried to gimp the force with that excuse in another SW vs HP thread/threads.

We all saw it.

Here:

YouTube video

If a wizard can turn a 6 foot teen into a 1 foot long ferret, then it stands to reason they can turn a 60 foot tall Balrog into a 10 foot tall banana.

A Balrog is far different than a "teen".

And? It'd be turned into a big ass banana.

Does transfiguration work on everything? A dragon, a Dementor, a ghost etc.?
