It would be interesting to see pre-sold Rises tickets to pre-sold Avengers tickets within the same time span.

And when did the Avengers allow you to pre order tickets as well.

Or when is the average you can buy tickets before hand for movies.

Avengers didn't have strong presale figures. The number overall doesn't mean anything, but it's just the fact that theaters are already being sold out waaay ahead of time.

Like I said is it normal for pre-sale tickets to be available this long before the movie opens?

I'm just asking because I'm wondering if it's DCs way of bolstering opening weekend ticket sales.

IE Avengers did so well that they decided to release tickets earlier than normal and push that so that it creates a hype of if you don't get your tickets now then you risk not being able to see it opening weekend which could push people who are on the fence into purchasing.

It would be a shrewd move if they did but I don't know enough about pre-sale tickets to know if that's what they were doing or if this standard procedure?

Avengers pre-sales were above Thor, Cap, Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and Hulk combined... 😕

Did those 3 movies have a strong presales? and Avengers didnt have a strong presale 6 weeks before the movie opened.

I know it's nothing, but I found this...

Could you please answer my questions since you seem to know a lot about pre-sales?

I'm no expert in pre-sales, I just read from Box office boards from time to time, but it's somewhat unheard of for a movie like TDKR to sell so many tickets 6 weeks before the release date. It has already broken midnight sale records in multiple countries. Avengers didn't have huge demand until a few weeks before it's release.

Not saying TDKR will break the record, but it has a shot.

i think tdkr will come veryveryclose

Within a week's time, Avengers will cross the $600 million mark in North America. Rarefied air!

While it looks like TDKR might be Warner Bros. only saving grace for the summer; what with Dark Shadows and Rock Of Ages flopping.

But I'm sure TDKR will be epic greatness. In Nolan We Trust.

WB still has the Hobbit movies and Dark Shadows at least made it's money back. And that's not counting the rentals.

Also, the advertising is in full effect. With the showing of the batmobile tours or Dale Earnhardt Jr. winning after a 4 year drought. With the bat symbol on his car.

"Happy we had The Batman on the car for this."

Batman is going to decimate.

This is good news.

So...I've heard from multiple sources now‪#THEDARKKNIGHTRISES‬ screened a few days ago. EVERYONE I've heard from says it's a "Masterpiece."

I really do hope it's a masterpiece, Bane is one of my favorite villains afterall.

I'm somewhat dreading if it does better than the avengers though. Mostly because of people that have been saying that Batman will do better than Avengers and will come on here rubbing it in people's faces acting like they had some kind of super look into the future power. When truth be told there was no way to know for certain which one would do better.

But I am totally pumped for this movie!!!

It probably won't break OW record, but I can see it breaking OD and IMAX record. Without 3-D premium, it has a long road to climb. Now, if TDKR was in 3-D, it could certainly beat it, IMO. It will surely match or surpass ticket numbers, though.

Oh it could do just as well or better. I have no problem with that.

I just hate when people want to act like they are little prophets because they called something yet it could have easily gone another way.

I think Box office wars are stupid in general. I mean, are you getting some of the money? 😕

A few movies have been pushed back, because of the might of TDKR. One movie being Bourne Legacy.

I was one of those people. But I certainly won't be rubbing anyone's face in anything no matter how well TDKR does simply because Avenger's Box Office success completely blew me away (as did the movie). Wasn't expecting that at all. And don't expect TDKR to match it now.

👆

And a lot of it depends on how good the final product is which of course no one can predict.

Cool. Can't wait!

so far, some websites have tdkr at 190M. that will probably surpass avengers in ticket numbers. and we are still 4 weeks away. my theater is adding more showtimes to meet the demand. 330 and 6u in the morning. and some of those are sold out.
