For two and a half hours, I was completely taken into another world. I experienced that larger than life sensation of watching a perfectly constructed story play out, it really was a palpable feeling. After watching the film, I had a renewed sense of childlike wonder. It felt like I saw “Batman” again for the very first time.As we left the screening room, and parted ways with the PR people, The intuitive Mr. Connelly let me have it. “Ok, now you can let it out” he said. I screamed, like an excited school girl.

Why do I have no desire to see this Batman movie? I'm worried that there's something wrong with me. I usually want to see all the comic book movies, but this one doesnt even look good in my opinion. Oh well, i'm sure i'll go and see it anyways.

That would be very impressive considering it's not even in 3d.
I'm so hoping this movie is as good as everyone says, on that note I'm trying to keep a pessimist's outlook on things so as to not get myself to hyped up and get disappointed.
Also the more and more I think on the subject the more and more I think Batman Begins will end up being a better film than the TDK. I don't even know how much the Joker Villain will hold up to the test of time and he was the best part of TDK.

They're both classics. TDK just had a lot more hype to it. As does TDKR. At the time of BB there wasn't much excitement for a new Batman.
Nolan's done a great service to the big screen Batman.

Good movies but I don't know if I would say the TDK is timeless, classic, a masterpiece.
I do agree Nolan has done an amazing job with Batman

They aren't timless classics because they came out 7 and 4 years ago, respectively.
IMO, the trilogy as a whole is/will be a masterpiece, and eventually recognized as a classic.

The more I think about TDK the more interested I become in Batman Begin and less interested in TDK.
I just don't think TDK will hold up well once the nostalgia of it all wears off.
The movie is incredibly long, and it's not a fun long, most long movies I don't care about but with TDK I specifically find myself not wanting to watch it because it's too long and I think it drags horribly in parts.
The Joker is great but I don't know how well he will last a decade from now. When it came out I think I would have ranked him top 5 now I don't know if he would make a top 15 for me.
And I could see it dropping further in future years.
The plot seems to get more and more ridiculous as time goes on. I just don't know how well it will age is all I'm saying
Of course this is mostly my opinion but I feel other people have expressed this as well and time could prove me wrong.
I hope the TDKR does become a masterpiece though because Bane is my favorite Batman Villain and I would love to see a great characterization of him shown to public so we get more of it.
Argh. I just picked up my ticket off my buddy who reserved our seats for the Thursday night (12:05 am Friday technically) premier weeks ago... and they are tickets for the 12pm noon Friday show...
Fail. 😠
Luckily there are still plenty good seats for the UltraAVX screening still available, so I should be able to switch them. Still mad at his failure.
