Thor's feats are superior to Gladiator. Him being used little in comparison to Thor is no excuse.

so you say thor wins and the reason is the writer? that's......about as obvious as anything ever said on the forums. he IS a comicbook character, you realize that, right? i find it funny that you claim thor wins because of a writer. what about if glads wins? is the issue where that happens gonna just appear via spontaneous generation or is THAT book going to be written as well? you know.......by a WRITER?
i imagine if a WRITER writes an issue where thor LOSES to glads, you won't have any problem with that, am i right? funny how that works. you like gladiator better than thor and so see an issue written in such a way that glads wins, is perfectly all right and anything else is bad writing. and you would no doubt criticize/flame/demean anyone who said THOR losing to glads is 'because of the writer'.

we use consistently depicted feats here, character, and past battles as examples of how a character would do in a fight. NOT just powersets and high feats as they suit us. feel free to list the feats and battles that would indicate glads should beat thor. i await your efforts eagerly. 🙂

You must understand what he means before responding. Obviously the writer thought Glad was superior but had Thor win due to a plot device. The writer could have had Thor win without the plot device but felt that Thor shouldn't be able to beat Glads if that was the case. This is what he meant.
IMO Glads wins a majority basically due to the speed advantage.

regardless, where was it ever made evident that the writer thought glads was superior and what was the plot device you claim was used to net the victory?
They better not mean when Thor fought bloodlusted and prepped future Gladiator.
Hell, all that fight showed was that Gladiator needed to take a hostage, attack Thor's mortal form first, and exploit the 60 second hammer enchantment - which no longer applies - for Gladiator to get the advantage over Thor.
And once Thor had had enough, he put him down in a handful of strikes.

The plot device was Glads arrogance and cause him to relent and allow Thor to strike him with lightning to come back in the fight.
In all seriousness I don't see how this thread lasted this long. Clearly Glads is stronger and thus will beat the tar out of Thor in a fist fight. Thor hasn't shown me crap when it comes to punching with his bare hands. Now Mjolnir is another story.

In any case he has shown punches to go toe to toe with The Hulk.. He's punched a dimension closed with Hercules punching the other side.. Oh and his Little Finger collapsed the Leaning Tower of Pizza, so you can imagine what a full on punch would do.
