Superman may not have exotic power energy outputs like Thor or Surfer, but his Ice Breath and Heat Visions are more than enough to do the job and make him versatile.
Superman's able to use his heat vision to lobotomizes anyone's brains in the microscopic level. Go and read what he did to Manchester Black. He literally lobotomizes the part of Black's brain that give him his powers. He did all that by using his heat vision to enter Black's eyes.
His heat vision is so hot, that it's temperatures surpasses that of the sun, and it can't even be measured.
While weakening with most of hi powers gone, he spent 7 yrs in the Earth crust, having Magma filled his lungs non stop, and all that time listening to the cries of the people on her.
Superman may not have exotic blast, but he doesn't really need them.

I wouldn't say many, or most. Some, yes.
In my opinion the only place where there's any argument between Superman and Surfer is strength (Supes pretty much got that on lock as Norrin isn't a physical character), durability (where it could go either way), and 'combat speed' (where Superman has superior movement speed of his limbs whereas Surfer has faster travelling speed and comparable agility/maneuverability, if not hand/eye coordination in purely melee applications). Beyond those three areas Surfer has Superman trumped significantly in terms of power. All of Superman's other abilities Surfer could duplicate and or surpass, and there's a myriad of things Surfer can do that Superman simply can't under his own power. Where Superman trumps Surfer, however, is in standing within the hero community. Superman is DC's go to man and as such has more feats and reputation for doing the impossible on a regular basis. That aside, Surfer IS more powerful, by a very comfortable margin, just not necessarily more 'effective' given Supes' being written as Hero #1 and feats associated with such standing. Superman does more with less, but no, he's not more powerful, he's just exceptionally good at making endless amounts of lemonade with the 6 lemons he has.

^ but with a little change of personality, technically with surfer's power he could look and perform similarly to a kryptonian and most people wouldn't recognize the difference.
Pretty much. Surfer has every ability Superman has including a hundred to thousands of more applicable powers. Kind of like Thor but on a higher level. Thor has everything Supes has including extras to back him up. The only edge Superman really has over Thor is speed, everything else is debatable but Thor has others powers to rely on...he is more well rounded imo. That's why I always put Thor and Surfer over people like Supes, Gladiator, and Wonder Woman because Surfer and Thor have basically every ability they have including interest...they are just outright more powerful. Again, this doesn't make Gladiator, Superman, or Wonder Woman weaklings at all...Surfer and Thor is just overall "more powerful".

This is the best way to put it.

How can you so easily agrees when you don't even read Superman comics.Anything Surfer has done, Superman has done it, or something similar.
You don't know what I have read.
As for the rest of your post...Surfer has destroyed planets, Surfer absorbed an entire Sun into his body, during annihilation, Surfer was shooting blast so powerful that it created a black hole light years wide. Has Supes done these things.

You're on the right side, you're just debating a little weak.

Quit while you're ahead. Surfer never absorbed an entire sun, he just leeched a star's energy in infinity wars or crusade IIRC. Superman has absorbed a sun before. Has surfer rubbed his hands together and seal away a hole in time-space or singed and erased a multiversal entity?
For all the power Hulk, Superman, Gladiator, and Thor has, I don't think they are as powerful as Surfer...Surfer mentality is his downfall. I still think all of them are on the same level and again, this isn't only about Superman, there are other heralds out there that is just as powerful as the people mentioned here. I just think Surfer is the embodiment of what a Herald should be...he is the Prime example of a Herald.

This doesn't include his speed of reacting to instant teleportation or durability of standing in one spot tanking Hulk punches or bfring Durok to the future along with his other insane fts with the use of his powers. Like augmenting his strength and speed during combat.
