USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (DARK SIDE)- Enemy

Vic is a Skakoan. Maybe he could pose as a Techno Union bigwig? They've got such a reputation for being xenophobic that seeing one MUST mean he's got something important to do with the TU, right? 8D

Reviewing Vic's skills, he has savior-faire and lying as pretty decent skills! I think he could plausibly pull the ruse off...

Sorry, I understood that there are some games that are not Gambling based, on Robine?

Could we lend some money from Gondorkorro?

Blimey, no, they are dirt poor.

-

You can pose as whatever you like- all they care about is if you have the money.

Would 50 000 be enough to convince a good gambler that we are in fact rich if the right lies are behind it?

Obviously we need gambling to get anywhere with straight money, so we are gonna have to get someone with it somehow.

Well, it would work right up until the point where he asks for more money.

Gambling helps (as would Republican contacts), and it is essential for skill games, but there's no story that fails just because a skill is missing. You'll just have to do what you can.

We could always pretend to be business men/women looking to start a deal with Merrik, I'm sure if we can convince him we have something of great value to him he would be willing to listen.

Maybe we can get him to put some money into Gondorkorro 😛

There's no way 'around' this problem. You either have to make the money or be friends with someone else who has it.

Can't we just Qui-Gon our way through some of the simpler games to make some more money?

The problem here is that you need to win a lot of money like that. These leaves us with four different issues

1. Games that you can win large amounts of money on on a single roll don;t really exist- those are low stakes games (you can roll a single die to win or lose a fortune in Hutt space if you wish). More refined dice games tend to involve multiple dice. This is much harder to mess with. This leads to..

2. You'd have to make Force rolls for every roll, and there would be a lot of them. So not only is there the possibility of failure...

3. ... there is then the possibility that you get noticed gesturing all the time, and then there is trouble.

But all of this is subordinated to the big one:

4. Casinos are on the look out for scams all the time. If people start getting ridiculous streaks of luck on a game like that, they can (and will) simply stop letting you play- they are under no obligation to serve you. They normally buy big winners a drink and navigate them away from the games, only being more firm about it if the unter is insistent on playing on.

Don't get me wrong- cheating like hell is, of course, part of this set up. But the Force is nothing like an instant win button, and you will need to put effort into avoiding suspicion (it has been dome in real life- it was always carefully planned).

Allying ourselves with a present gambler seems feasible, and pretty much our only option without any gambling talent among ourselves.

Is there any way to know what gamblers might be present before we start off to Robine? Or will that have to wait until we arrive and meet some at the tower?

We should be able to help them cheat sufficiently with the Force, though we can't do it overtly or often. Only in subtle moments.

If we can avoid throwing our own money into the gambler we go with, we should. If we have to, we'll start low and go higher depending on his needs.

Nope, no advanced knowledge, because all the famous gamblers would be on the top floor already.

Are there some games they are physical, for example fighting based or sport games. Intellectual based games?

I agree that allying oursleves with young and ambitious gambler could be the best way to go.

Nope, no such games at all.

Sounds like making friends is going to be our best bet. And probably shouldn't put all of our eggs in one basket.

You think we might be able to get a couple of good gamblers and host some kind of tournament among them to see who can make it the farthest with a big cash prize at the end?

Why would they do anything like that when they can just gamble at the casino?

Also, no-one any good is going to do a thing for you unless you show the money up front.

We shouldn't let the gamblers know that they're working together.

Maybe we could go with a few gamblers? Split the money two or three ways?

Oh hey.

Relle should be okay. She can't lie but she's persuasive so she's not totally inept. She can be more than a simple heavy. Too bad she doesn't have seduction she could be a classy escort or something.
