USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (DARK SIDE)- Enemy

Well, we can go into broad ideas on that.

Those of you more capable of academic force study- and although he did not specifically ask, I will include Azarl in that- can indeed learn a bit about the Harmony from Ascar.

However, the major issue is this- Ascar learned it first hand, at first observing an then partaking in some of the Thaloissian joining (not easy, as he points out, for a man to get in on that). It;s something you have to experience to learn.

Therefore, the bonus quest for you guys is- if you can very closely observe the process of the Thalossian Circle- close and long enough to meditate about it and sense it out- you can start to learn of its nature, and its weaknesses.

Other than that- it's time to go. A couple of things to think about. First of all, what are you guys going to pretend to be? You have no idea what yo are going to run into out there, in your dinky little ship, so get an idea down.

Also, you can pick up Con Gordo along the way- Bardock has expressed an interest in rejoining. Presumably he got up to this own business whilst you guys were at the casino but he's available again now, and this will be the last chance to pick up people for a while.

Galder likes the idea of Rand, Gallador, and Azarl being able to counter Adelmo's abilities, but at the same time fears what would happen if Rand could tap into Gallador and Azarl the way that Adelmo taps into her attendants.

In any case, Galder gets ready to fly the junker off of Coruscant. He suggests that they pose as smugglers.

Rand thanks Ascar for his willingness to give them insight into the Thalossian techniques that Adelmo uses. He certainly hopes to learn it quickly.

"Not the Friendship Circle," Rand says before anyone suggests it. "We should keep it simple, and we should not reveal our true nature until we are certain as to what we will deal with out there."

Ush did Eller give Xavier cold the shoulder?

If so Xavier will rejoin his compatriots downstairs. Before he leaves he will ask Eller how she feels about this next adventure.

Xavier is not extremely interested in the Harmony anymore. Not after seeing how it effected those in it.

"Perhaps those one of us knows details about that stretch of space? You know the people that are always bragging about their knowledge of whatever system we go to. Perhaps they give us a better understanding of how much civilization we should expect. And maybe even why a defenseless junker is out there."

Rand will concede that Xavier makes a good point, and decides not to punish him for his insolent way of pointing it out.

Eller is taciturn as ever- but she does say this.

"I think you will find your enemy. And much more. It ends in fire."

-

Xavier is right. Savoir-Faire will be at a premium this far out- and Dark Jedi will find such rolls hard (6s needed); those of you who grew up on the fringes will be more comfortable.

Xavier looks to Eller, "It will be nice to finally know my foe. The fire part is a bit concerning though. Are you coming with us?"

Relle doesn't have Savoir-Faire so I guess that gives Galder and Azarl the advantage there, even though they've got lower pools. Show us how smart you are, Rand/Gallador.

Galder will ponder about the region of space they're headed to, so the group can put together a convincing reasons to be floating around in their space-faring family van.

He has Savoir-Faire +2, Intelligence +4.

Rand will certainly still give it a go. Even with that restriction, Rand still possesses more knowledge in general than Galder.

Could we maybe check with our Contacts/Ties for further information?

Gallador is also very happy to learn about Harmony, thanks Ascar, and will join Rand and Azarl to practice it together - the nature of this technique means that one should not attempt to learn it alone. They need to at least try to trust each other a bit - they have been through a lot and only together they can survive the enormous odds facing them.

Gallador will try the Savoir-Faire roll with Intelligence 5 and skill 2.

He thinks that perhaps they can pretend to merchants together with bodyguards or perhaps mercanaries. Is there any trade or war in that sector which wold justify such cover?

Ah, so, merchants or smugglers? Big difference.

I am afraid this one is plot-tied to zero information.

Merchants cover has an assumption of legality, which is a benefit in most situations... maybe we are desperate and look for new markets outside Republic space? Galder and Xavier could be hired muscle.

However, if our enemy stays there, he will propably recognize us on sight, I assume?

Or Xavier could be the Mechanic/technical guy. Just throwing that out there 😛

Merchants might work better. We're exploring for new markets. Only thing we don't have is wares.

So what are the pros and cons of us being Smugglers?

What are the pros and cons of us being Merchants?

And is it possible we could pose as merchants that also smuggle!!!!

Smugglers are usually criminal elements, merchants seem less threatening by nature. We would need to concoct some story either way as to why we don't have anything aboard our junky ship.

I say Smugglers in that case because we have yet to do that cover. As to not having cargo we could simply be looking cargo to pick up. (Which we keep when we leave) Also we're in a junker because who would expect a junker to be a smuggler's ship!!!!

And why are you looking for cargo out in the middle of nowhereville?

Smuggling implies authorities to get stuff by, else you are just hauling.

We could be looking for new places to store contraband where the authorities have less influence. A smugglers den if you were. Whether that's through a remote location or possibly a third party willing to hold cargo for us. We are using the junker because it could be a red flag if a nice fast ship was coming out here.
