Legal Age of Consent - In Florida, the legal age of consent is 18 years of age. All under the age of 18 are considered children or minors.

That the law doesn't call adolescents and young adults "kid" on the books and 17 year olds would not think of themselves as "kids"? Yeah, I'm sooooooooo weird. dur <----Smilie face proves it.
luckily I don't constrain my vocabulary in general speech to wrote legal definitions...
You might be weird, were your intent less transparent

No, "we" are not. That was something Robtard introduced. If you want to move the goal posts and arguing with a person that does not exist in this thread, go ahead. 🙂

therefore your asserted arbitrary definition of "kid", "child" and "minor" are irrelevant.
Destroy that strawman, tough guy. Beat it till it's a pill of destroyed straw, n'stuff.
Go back through my posts: you'll find "boy", "young man", and "kid".

keep on trolling though.
Pot and kettle, n'all that.
Trayvon is not a "kid". You're kind of supposed to take away some sort of rhetorical understanding from this: "...when you turn 18, you magically gain tons of wisdom, knowledge, and insight."
Edit - It's too late, Chumpy, I captured your original post. 🙂

"...when you turn 18, you magically gain tons of wisdom, knowledge, and insight."Is there any normal person who isn't a bleeding heart liberal, in this thread, that agrees it is a logical fallacy to refer to Trayvon Martin as a "kid" when making arguments.
Anyone? Anyone?
'Zimmerman killed a child', that's legally abiding per FL law and won't pull on the "emotions" card as you said was the reason for the usage of "kid". Good?

next, it will be a fallacy to mention that Martin was unarmed!how dare the facts make the victim look sympathetic!
I could have sworn we already covered this?

It's the difference between making arguments and using a logical fallacy known as "appeal to emotion", naw what I mean, bro?
"Waaaah, boohooo, a kid was killed!"
Vs
"Waaah, boohoo, a young man was killed!"

You guys really really suck at this: you're talking in circles. All of your points have been addressed.

As though invoking the law to pretend he was a 'child' addresses the notion that there would have been a difference, at all, in Trayvon Martin's death. If he were just a few months older, he'd be an "adult", legally. That that really makes a difference besides the obvious one where people are whinging about the "kid" vs. the "man"?
You do know I find the idea of calling Martin a "kid" complete and utter bullshit, right? You do know he handled Zimmerman like a capable man? It's just that....Martin brought his fists to a gun fight and he lost.

So it's okay to say "young man" cos legally he would have been a man soon, but it's not okay to use "child", though legally he was a child. Got it.
It's not okay to pretend he was the commonly understood idea of "kid" to make an appeal to emotion. Just like it was not okay for me to refer to Martin as a "boy".

you dont get to alter the vocabulary of the discussion because you're mad at robtard.
trevon was by all legal accounts, by local and state law, a child. a minor. very often referred to colloquially as a "kid".
"zimmerman killed a child" is a factual statement, especially concerning legallity. get mad about it.
