6/10

Apparently the whole final act had nothing to do with Trank.

I believe him that Fox screwed up his original movie. Fox deserves to lose lots and lots of money on this. And they deserve to lose this Franchise (and all related characters) forever.

Adi Shanker (Producer of Dredd, Lone Survivor) wants to remake Fantastic Four

ewww, no. I loved 'Dredd' and despite his Power Rangers take being complete shit, i appreciate his effort with it, but i wouldn't trust that guy to get it right... he'd probably go way too dark and gritty. I think he'd get Doom correct, but his overall style doesn't seem to mesh.

Give him Spawn tho; with a budget, he'd probably crush that.

I hope Marvel have this back within the year.

I'm not going to watch this. I gave Fox the benefit of the doubt, but refuse to support their continuous butchering of this franchise. FF are done for now, even Marvel won't be able to pick up the pieces. But at least Marvel can do Silver Surfer and Galactus justice.

Can't wait for Thor to face off against Surfer on the big screen!

What the heck is Marvel supposed to do with this? The FF has been shown to not only be poorly received by critics and fans but also loose money. Disney has to be able to make some sort of profit off of the characters which I don't see them doing even with all the good that they've done with building their MCU.

Also assuming they got Galactus and SS back somewhere in the near future, would Marvel even want to use those guys?

Galactus SS are the only reason to see these pitiful movies

🙁

no one gives a shit about them anymore.

Oh I agree the FF are finished regardless. But after Fox has butchered them for the 3rd time in a Row I don't want them to butcher all the FF's related characters as well. Let Marvel have them.

Marvel tried to make a deal with them a few years ago. To let Fox keep Daredevil if Marvel can use Galactus and Surfer. But Fox refused, which is why Marvel have Daredevil now. So yes, Marvel definitely do want to use those guys.

I will say the end battle is the worst action sequence I've ever seen. It didn't make any sense, you could easily tell the neutral zone was a green screen because of supremely shitty cgi, f4 using their powers was painfully awkward and Doom beared no resemblance whatsoever to his comic book likeness. Plus the battle lasted maybe 10 minutes and was pretty much all we got to see of the f4 using their powers. Up until that point the movie was at least tolerable if not slightly enjoyable, that ending and the **** up with Doom sank this movie.

Blaming only Fox is silly. Trank was apparently showing up drunk to set and he trashed his temporary home. Let's just say there is a reason that Kinberg had to finish up the movie.

Yea it sucks ass. I FCKING HATE THESE STUPID MOVIES.

I like the character's got a few of the books and use to watch that 90's cartoon.

Except this is 3/3 for Fox, not for Trank.

And what a stand up job he's done.

It's the last act that Trank wasn't involved in which is supposed to be the worst part of the movie, and the main reason the movie fails.

Even the first and second act aren't amazing, they're pretty good and moderately enjoyable. After some reflection though, that third act was the most atrocious film I've seen from a major studio in a blockbuster.

Trank was fired from the directing job for Star Wars episode 8 because of his antics while making this movie. You can only blame Fox for so much before it's evident that Trank is apparently a giant man-child.

Even the guy who wrote Chronicle has stated that working with him was a frustrating experience.

Besides, it's too late to introduce the F4 in the MCU. What a waste of potential.

Wow, practically every review has stated the prior two films were better. Just wow.

Likewise I'd say there's only so much you can blame on the Director, when the studio has screwed this franchise up 3/3 times now.

The FF have fought the same (misused) villain 3/3 times, and the plot to this is the same as their Original one: 5 guys get superpowers during science experiment, struggle to deal, one of them goes mad, the other 4 team up to stop him at the end.

Fox after already having done this green lighted a repeat with a "different tone" but then kept cutting back on the budget and butting in and changing the film, not letting the Director just make the film he wanted (which he already tweeted out).

And this seems to confirm all that:

Well as corny and as bad as the last 2 were, at least the first was a fun movie (and not a repeat of anything) and at least the Surfer was portrayed decently in the 2nd.

I honestly feel like going back and rewatching those ones, instead of watching the new one.

As mentioned, at least the last two F4 movies were decent so maybe the reboot would be at least slightly okay but all I watched when I went to go see this was the world's slowest train wreck.

f4

The re-boot seems to be a bad idea.
