Not sure I agree entirely with that. Age of Ultron is in many ways far better than the first movie. Just not with the villain or the way his story works
Winter Soldier was vastly superior to Cap's first outing. Guardians has been the best of all the related movies so far.
As for outwith the Avengers/Guardians/Thanos story the X men movies have improved immeasurably with First Class and DoFP compared with the trilogy and wolverine movies.

I can understand what the article means by fatigue...the same formula's used in both movies...the heroes petty bickering, the villain's cliched motive of taking over or destroying the world, the heroes banding together...the guaranteed good triumphing over evil...roll the credits.
Personally I walked out of the first movie hyped up wanting to see it again. But Ultron, I walked out feeling I can easily wait for dvd.
On a random note, to the other people who have seen it, anyone feel like Cap is veering more and more away from "peak" human and closer to watered down Asgardian. Just compare him in The First Avenger to how he is portrayed in Age of Ultron. Some of the impacts and blows he tanks, seemingly without any injury, was insane
Spoiler:. And his strength feats this movie are also pushed to a new level IMO. Almost can't believe it's the same character.
especially his showing in his fight vs Ultron
Don't really have an opinion on Cap's "increased" strength in Ultron.
I was more focused on the amount of times he was willing to lose his shield in battle if it wasn't retrieved by someone else.
For a weapon that was made of a rare metal element & worth apparently millions, Cap really didn't seem to care if he lost the shield or it fell in the wrong hands.
