Oh, and when

Spoiler:
Kal snapped Zod's neck
, i yelled out, "Fatality!" and got a pretty big laugh. I was quite pleased with myself. 😎

***MAY BE A LITTLE SPOILERISH...

Awesome movie.

Good acting performances all around. Cavill is the best Superman to date, Reeves was great as Clark, but Cavill's Superman had more character, imo. We only got like 2 minutes of Cavill in Clark Kent persona so it's hard to judge him on that portion of the character. Zod was a surprisingly flushed out character, i didn't expect that much depth. There were some genuinely powerful and emotional moments, e.g.

Spoiler:
when Jonathan died (Even though i thought that was kinda dumb seeing as he could have taken Martha to safety and let Clark get the dog... but whatever)
and
Spoiler:
when Clark had to kill Zod (even though i thought that was also dumb considering those people just stood there instead of, i dunno, getting the hell outta the way... again, whatever)
; both were dumb writing for the sake of drama, but it's hard to call them flaws since they were well done in terms of the emotional impact they had.

I didn't mind Lois; i thought the character was relevant to the story and not just a chick in the movie, but i didn't really like the relationship aspect, it felt like it happened too fast. I don't recall what connection they actually made with each other, other than Kal saving her repeatedly (btw, was that robot that attacked Lois supposed to be Brainiac?). Their romance didn't detract from the movie at all, I just didn't buy it. Heh. I do think it's interesting that Lois knows Clark is Superman from the very beginning. I view it as a good thing since it saves us from seeing that exhausting crap where Clark has to lie to Lois about his activities and we as viewers are supposed to believe she is so dumb that she can't figure out his secret.

Not a whole lot of humor, which i didn't mind because the tone was meant to be serious overall. Pretty much all of the comedic moments were in the trailer(s), though i did find myself laughing when Clark asked Jonathan if he was just supposed to let Pete die, and Jonathan said, "I dunno, maybe."... that was also in the trailers, but for some reason i laughed when i heard it in full context. Shit was coldblooded.

I like that they decided to show us Clark's past via flashbacks instead of a "straight line" narrative. I thought that decision allowed us to see his journey while also adding relevance to Kal's current situation... reminded me of "Slumdog Millionaire". Going in that direction kept the movie from feeling slow paced like origin stories usually do.

Action... AMAZING ACTION! STUPID AMAZING! Mouth open, feed me more of this amazing. The action in this movie makes Avengers look like Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

I loved how their speed was portrayed, but I actually thought the movie could have benefited from some of the slow-mo that's usually apart of Snyder's films. The action (the combat in particular) is so damn fast that it was often times difficult to appreciate; it was amazing in the moment, but i didn't get to savor it. They did a fantastic job at making you feel how powerful Superman and the rest of the Kryptonians really are... shit gets phucked up in this movie, and every hit felt heavy.

The digital effects were AMAZING! This is probably what they wanted to achieve with the Neo/Smith fights in The Matrix sequels. I also liked that Kal got owned due to Faora and the others having actual combat training.

Jor-El was a badass too, btw. That was a welcome surprise.

Man, I can't wait 'til this hits blue-ray. droolio I'll likely see it again in theaters before then.

9/10.

Glad you liked it 👆

I had a blast with the movie.

J J Abrams Star Trek films are solid films. The characters have good chemistry, good dialogue, and a strong plot. There is a buildup also in the films there which was not present in Man of Steel. You can also follow along with the action unlike Man of Steel's Transformers like action where you can't even follow it.

J J Abrams >>Zack Snyder.

Star Treks are solid films unlike this film IMO.

I agree with Quan, the movie wasn't good.

It had some good cgi, but the fight scenes, for the most part, were repetitive, Lois was annoying, and the story felt rushed.

GTFO ******.

Huge letdown. I hope it doesn't do well or else all dc movies will follow suit and just be mindless, repetitive action.

You liked IM 3 so get out...uhuh

IM3 was better than MoS.

Go back to Netflix, loser. uhuh

I'm pretty sure they just looped the same fight scenes over and over again for 30 minutes.

I'm pretty sure you're bored and just trolling for the sake of trolling. It is okay. Trolling fun. Don't enable that guy though. 👇

I honestly give the movie 7/10.

Nothing really stood out to me, it had some cool scenes though.
