I generally pay attention to such things but usually if I want to see the film I go see it regardless of what the critics say. Case in point: After Earth; critics bashed it and I think now its at 11% but I still saw it knowing that beforehand.

No, Snyder did no such thing. His movie isn't comparable to the Star Treks.

Saw man of steele on opening night. It was ok that's bout all I can say bout it. It felt like a sci fi flic, not a comic book movie at all. The movie seemed kinda rushed. The old Superman movies with Christopher reeve had a sense of honor and patriotism in them. Mabey even pride. Didn't sense that in this movie. AT times I thought I was watching independence day II with superman as a supporting actor. The movie didn't have superman in it almost at all. On the bright side the special effects were good.
This movie had more Superman than Superman Returns.

Also, i don't find him to be all that interesting a villain; he's not charismatic and his only method of attack is robots... it would be boring and repetitive. i've already seen the Matrix.
How are you tired of Brainiac?
No he hasn't.
He's a much more interesting villain than Metallo...who is a robot. He is also one of the few Supes villains that is actually a threat. You already saw Superman fight Zod, and yet you gave this movie a near perfect score. Anyway, a Superman/Brainiac movie wouldn't be anything like the Matrix. You sound real Gecko right now.

Not that I think DC should try and copy Marvel but I think they missed the chance to really excite the fanbase with a post-credits scene of sorts.Imagine something like an unidentified bald man sitting in a luxurious office reading the Daily Planet. Then the camera pans outward to reveal the outside of a window showing a bunch of machines with LexCorp branded on them rebuilding Metropolis.
I would have lost it.
thats the one thing i didn't like.. had there been a post credits scene i would've screamed my lungs off
So here is my review of movie
I would normally do a strengths and weaknesses portion detailing where each element of the film kind of falls in but it's really hard to do and I will tell you why but first there were two aspects that were definitely strengths the action and visuals which considering the director isn't a big surprise.
Now for the rest of the movie plot, acting, interactions. None of them were really a strength or a weakness. Each category often changed between them even the characters would have their ups and downs.
Probably the most prominent for me was Jonathon and Zod.
Both imo had a great moments in this film other times they had rather weak and dull portion as well.
Some of the plot didn't sit well with me other bits were spot on imo for what this movie was trying to do.
Interactions between characters for the most part were good. Jor-El was probably the best at this and general the best character in movie along with Lois Lane and Superman following close behind.
If I had to give a weakness for this movie anything it might be pacing but even then ups and downs. A couple of scenes I thought dragged on a bit or were needless.
Of course the good far outweighs the bad and I give this movie a 7.5-8/10
