Man of Steel is much better than Superman Returns, about which I remember nothing. Man of Steel incorporates modern ideas such as terraforming Earth to make it more like Krypton. It is a contemporary movie, and the alien angle is played up. Kal-El is proof that we are not alone. With 891 exoplanets confirmed by the Kepler Space Telescope, we are more sensitive than ever to the possibility of extraterrestrial civilizations. The Zod character seems more real. He comes off as only half-evil in that he is willing to destroy humanity to preserve his own kind. On the other hand, Kal-El (Superman) is willing to let Kryptonians perish in order to save humanity. There is the Moses/Jesus thing and periodic appearances by Jor-El's consciousness, again raising the question of whether or not consciousness survives physical death. Keep in mind this is only a movie! We learn that the "S" on Kal-El's costume is not an "S," that it is in fact a Kryptonian symbol for hope. The word "Superman" is not even mentioned until the latter part of the movie. Blowing things up is a movie staple, and Man of Steel has its share of mayhem, havoc and chaos. The final battle between Kal-El and Zod is especially violent.
Here is a list of all the easter eggs. Wow I missed a few

You would rather see Lex then another villain ? Honestly ?
Yes just not the same type of Luthor we got in Reeves/Routh movies. He should be highly intelligent and able to bring Supes to his knees with just using K-Nite. There should also be action in the form of someone powerful working for Luthor. Maybe Bizarro or Parasite. Metallo maybe

It should be a different style of villain than Zod. It shouldn't just be another wreckfest. So an intellectual bad guy would be best. So Luthor or Brainiac would be the natural choice.
Brainac would work as well 👆

Another villain or Luthor in his power suit. He should be the untouchable mastermind behind everything like in the comics. No more of this Luthor in jail every other day BS
Originally posted by juggermanI see you like pretty much the same villains from time to time. I'd rather see Brainiac or Doomsday.

I'd be fine with either of those. Or even both in the same film, with a well written script where Brainiac isn't regulated to just being a lackey.
I don't want Luthor to make a comeback. Superman has a good list of villains that could use the spotlight. Having said that...Luthor has a lot of potential as a follow up villain. We have seen all the destruction Superman and gang caused. We know the aliens came to earth because of Kal-El's presence. Those 2 facts really suit Luthor's agenda and his motives for regarding Superman as a threat to humanity.
