Now that's superspeed.

yep, I saw the concept art a few days ago and decided to have a sig and avy made..

So yeah this just opened up in Australia

9/10 from me.

Nice.

Read one review for it from a critic here

basically says "Polished start, then the rust sets in"

the rust certainly wasn't setting in near the end.

Yup saw Supes lastnight too.
Thoroughly enjoyed the film...the wait, the hype was worth it IMO.

However for me, Superman is a bit of an anti-climatic character. I mean we've all seen him in the various incarnations of movies & cartoons that by the time Cavill dons the costume & flies...there was really no "WOW" factor for me. It just felt natural & good to see Superman on the big screen again.

The 3D certainly made some action scenes difficult to follow, especially the battle scenes on Krypton...there was too much going on in the background when you were actually meant to focus on the foreground action. I got dazed by the pretty bright explosions before I realised that I was meant to be watching JorEl escape on his winged beast.

Another thing I detested was the use of shakey cam when it came to the flashback's of Clark's childhood. It was irritating to watch & really took the focus away from the emotional impact of the scenes.

I would've liked if they had a childhood scene of Clark lashing out to his bullies in anger & frustration of being picked on for being different. I know how Jonathan drummed into young Clark not to stand out or show off but hell, I don't know any kid who would've listened & done everything their father told them to. Young Clark just seemed too hen-pecked & docile to begin with. This made him look like more the bully, later in life when he gives the trucker in diner, payback.

Like every Batman movie, there's always that one pivotal scene that sums the entire movie for you. Mine was Supes hovering above the military, looking down on them before giving himself up.

Lastly, the end battle scene got a bit too repetitious. The tentacles were too cliched & done to death with every alien movie & yeah I lost count on the amount of times a villain got punched through a building only to do it back to Supes & then repeat the sequence all over again. I just hope Zack breaks away from this if there is a sequel.

Lastly, I honestly didn't expect the amount of collateral damage to Metropolis & no scenes of Superman attempting to save anyone. From the military's point of view, he was just as responsible for the multitude of death & destruction to turn around & say that Supes was on their side. That was a bit silly to hear.

I honestly don't know what to think of Amy Adams as Lois. A competent actress who played the role well & wasn't just simply there for eye-candy like Fox in Transformers.

I thought Crowe was good as JorEl too but I thought he verged on being a bit too comical when he played holographic flight attendant in helping Lois escape.

But yeah a good film & well worth the wait.

Only problem i had with it was how they had to kill off Zod thought we were over these things

put a villain in one of these comic book adaptations and we have to figure out a way to kill him off during the script writing process.

Yeah Supes had him in a headlock...I kept thinking why didn't he just fly off with Zod.

I actually liked that. Its better than finding a way of removing his powers, or returning him to the Phantom Zone or some crap like that. Wasn't expected at all.

Maybe Zod was preventing him from doing so

He could have just chocked him out.

Zod said it himself: he was born to protect his race. It was the reason for his existence. Anything other than his death would've been only a BFR, so to speak. Like a Terminator, he would've just kept coming back, because protecting his race is all he does.

This was the impression I got. His death guaranteed closure.

Yeah, I'm glad Superman didn't just pull a magic mirror out of his ass again.

Batman would have found a way.

Could he even do that? These guys can chill in space.

I think so too.

They breathe oxygen and have blood that flows to their brain.

So yes.
