Thinking about it, if they switched places, I think Indy would have a better job of surviving in the life of McClane.

McClane doesn't have the background of having Jones Sr.'s education and archaeology - I think he'd go down in the very first temple we see in "Raiders." He wouldn't know about the "weight" idol, or the booby traps. Jones figured that out through both his connections and his archaeology skills. And how would McClane figure out the three tests at the end of the Last Crusade?

McClane can definitely do the terrorist/rotten cells of government thing... but how would he do against Nazis?

McClane is a Super Cop, and Indy is like a Super Archaeologist with massive weapons training.
