...but back to the topic at hand. Will see it due to liking CoR.

Honestly, my biggest concern regarding this film (for fans of CoR), is that we're more than likely not going to get much development concerning the mythology set up in CoR. In otherwords I fear it's going to feel like nothing's happened. So it'd better be bloody, violent, irreverent, and entertaining enough to make up for it. I actually did email Twohy a while back (posted it in the OTHER Riddick Thread in the Sci-Fi forum). I'll repost the extent of the conversation:

Email from yours truly (the Leech) to Mr. Twohy:

Hi, Mr. Twohy.

Big fan of your work and am extremely excited about the new Riddick film. I wanted to ask if we can expect the irreverent religious undertones to be continued and built upon as the series continues?

Thanks. Take care. : )

Mr. Twohy's response:

Always.

I agree completely. If they abandon the mythology and just really focus of the brutality of the characters ala part 1 would be a step backwards.

Yeah setting up mythos are very important on lucrative franchises

Thanks for conceding. Hopefully, this film will retain and go into the mythology a little but more here.

Conceding what? That you're a moronic troll that should be banned? No problem. Glad you accept it.

Calm down. Insulting gives validity to my comments. Others agree with me so quit bashing.

Yeah, my guess is that they'll have some hints at the mythos (they DO have a Judy Dench soundalike listed on the IMDB page). Probably will have some narration at the beginning/end. Hopefully it'll end off with another cliffhanger to pick up where UnderVerse/Furya will pick up. I want to see some more Necros get f#cked up again. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah, ya'll need to stop. It's embarrasing. Go meet up somewhere and angry-f#ck already.

If its a mega hit I hope they do something large scale again like the second one. That's my hope anyways.

Yeah because bigger is always better................ermm

I didn't say that. I like the mythos more than a generalized badass we've seen in films a thousand times over.

You certainly was implying it

even if it wasn't the exact words which i said above.

Remember, he also didn't say he would have been all over the franchise like a rabid fan if Chronicles hadn't flopped. We just twisted his words by taking them exactly as he wrote them. 😐

Due to the mythos being expanded. Not into Riddick but liked the Underverse.

No, you clearly are confused. I'm used to it.

Seriously, which film did you watch?

Movie never really got into the Underverse. It was the destination the Necromongers as a whole wanted to reach and all we got is that is was some Emo promiseland.

I liked the concept of the Underverse. That's where he would have taken us next.

A simple word like Underverse and you start screaming you nver saw the movie. So predictable.

You're easily entertained. "What you call death" and you jizz.

Easy with those strawmen now. I'm laughing that you liked Chronicles cos of the "Underverse", something that was only hinted at.

Hinted at ? The Underverse massacring planet by planet was a huge plot point. The director said he would have. Not interested in just the character of Riddick but the cool mythos of the second film.

The Necros killed a total of what, one planet, Helion Prime. All we saw.
The Underverse (what you jizz over) was just hinted it as a place where Emo's go and where they were headed. You're easily entertained.

Well he's not. So crying over it is just silly.

We know they laid waste to Furyan as well. We also know they are assaulting the universe without resistance.

We see their powers, the cool designs, and were teased by the actual,Underverse.

Taking over a planet in a few hours is impressive.

Yes, stated. Which has nothing much to do with the Underverse, as they never got there and only hinted at what it entailed.

So a universe potentially full of Emos would do it for you. Easily entertained.

Odd.
