First season.

The episode was called "Home Soil."

As fact, 1 man died at the hands of that laser.

I remember as a kid that when Malenson (sp?) went into the drilling chamber and was being attacked, those screams he was making scared the shit out of me especially when they open the doors and his body was lying there, smoking, and badly burned. I'm sure they did not intend it to come off as horror but it was quite chilling especially because the enemy was a cold, unfeeling, machine (what we find out in that episode, later, is that it was not actually a machine firing the laser: I won't spoil the episode).

Episode was quite good. It has a mixture of some shitty acting and some really really good acting. You can tell that Stewart and that Terraforming Director were classically trained actors.

Edit - Looked it up on Netflix. It's Episode 17. The fun starts at about 12:30 into the episode. Data not only dodges the laser fire, he had to outwit a laser that was adapting to his dodging tactics. He physically tears the laser apart, though: lol!

Data from all Star Trek TNG films vs John Harrison from Star Trek into Darkness.

Setting is the steel mill from Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Nobody else is present. Data's emotion chip is off.

1) Hand to Hand on the railing over the pit of molten steel.

2) Melee fight with Klingon Bat'leths at the entrance to the mill where the tanker of liquid nitrogen crashed.

3) Seek and destroy, armed with phasers set to kill. Both start at opposite ends of the steel mill.

To the death, anything goes.

Why are we not just calling him Khan? In the End Khan would win, Ive seen Data get taken out with much meager efforts by less powerful people.

The rule change was obviously made to help out the Data side as they were losing badly and in humiliating fashion.

The change was announced in the "Action Tournament" thread and it was in response to Jack Bauer's TV feats.

OR...the rule changed because I biitched about the canon shit for years and he finally gave in to us like we were whiny, spoiled children.

Mind you, I haven't complained about he canon stuff in quite a while so, this time, it had nothing to do with me. But I think he just got tired of dealing with all the "well, this is canon wah wah wah". Lestov probably had a lot to do with it, recently, with the Jack Bowels stuff.

It was due to Datas epic loss. Awesome.

Data needs all the help he can get.

Data is stronger and smarter.

Anyway, you're argument seems to be more about differences in cinematography than actual in-universe comparisons of the characters.

Post where the rule was changed due to Data losing to Jack Bauer, like your claiming.

We haven't seen Abram's Data. Since, within Star Trek continuity, Data is a cyborg with superior capabilities to Khan, a genetically engineered man, we must assume even this version of Khan loses by adhering to the depictions of conventional continuity unless of course Abrams changes it. I don't think we'll see an Abram's Data, but we me see a synthetic human very much like him (Albino).
