realm? gaia's "realm" is the earth

Yes and no. She also has her own realm "Avalon". All the Elder Gods have (or had before stupid retcons) their own realm : Oshtur - the Astral Plane, Gaea - Avalon, Set - Serpent's Sea, and Chthon - the Flickering Realm.

she destroyed classic dormammu:

I think she just banished him from the Earth. Keep in mind he captured her previously (despite the fact that he was still weak) and it took Clea/Strange to free her.

I don't think you're understanding me correctly.

It is a pretty well-known fact that most deities/entities in Marvel who are privy to their own realm, are more powerful in that realm then they are outside of it-- which makes sense. So is Gaea the exception to this fact?

Thor is a diety, is he more powerful in Asgard? Is Odin (w/o drawing on Asgard's power) shown to be significantly more powerful in Asgard than he is out of it? Mephisto, Dormamu, Hela have explicitly been stated as more powerful in their realms. Gaea has not.

Asking a question in response to my question isn't an answer at all. 🙂

I actually answered your question:

She has few showings and from what I know, being that Earth (and now so is Asgard IS her realm), she has no "showings" outside her "realms" AFAIK.

Mind answering mine?

Clearly they aren't on earth-- unless there is a place on Marvel earth that produces man-sized butterflies, and flying whales swimming in floating water..?

If Gaea wants those things to happen around her because she wants them to, is there anything stopping those things from happening?

When has Alan effortlessly no sold and dismissed beings on par with the Defenders?

I didn't say he no sold better, but had better battle showings. He easily no sold the combined might of Power Girl and Supergirl with ease. And laughed at it, while fighting a ton of DC's earth super heroes. On the moon nonetheless. That's a better showing than Gaea, IMO.

Sooo, Supergirl and Powergirl > Surfer, Hulk and Classic Strange?

Hmmmmm.....

Those weren't the only heroes Alan schooled. He kept most of the JLA/JSA busy with his constructs and possessed the likes of Miss Martian, Dr. Fate, and Obsidian, who are>>>>Defenders.

In you own words, he possessed them/kept them busy. Meaning he actively did something. Meaning he was using his powers. In your own words he ony tanked PG and SG.

Is that his average? Was there context to all that?

Gaea just stood there like they were nothing. Less than nothing. How is Alan Scott being in actual combat be ">>>" (in your own words) what Gaea has done?

Edit. Wait, Obsidian , Miss Martian and Dr. Fate are >>> Surfer, Classic Strange and Hulk? Really?

Alan with full starheart is crazy powerful, who I rank around sky father level. But he's not part of this thread, I just think that one Gaea feat isn't that impressive. We've seen Trans level beings tank similar attacks. So that doesn't solidify her power, IMO.

while i knew that the other gods have their own realm i never knew about gaia. i assumed that being a goddess of earth, earth itself is her domain.

Gaia's power is a bit hard to define, here in thor #301 notice what she tells thor:

"your fellow gods have all passed beyond my pale of power but you my loved one, have not"

she destroyed his earth form, it was references in doctor strange sorceror supreme #2:

considering his power that's a fairly impressive feat id say.

Then (in your own words), he was functioning at his Skyfather levels? Why then would you say "trans" at what she did besides trying to somehow lowball the "feat"?

She sat there, LITERALLY not just no sold their attacks but sat there like all that's happening is a bunch of gnats flying around her. LITERALLY 3 of Marvel's TOP high heralds with a wealth of "feats" that sometimes put them at trans. And she took their attacks like they were nothing. She didn't use her powers to protect/shield herself. She just sat there and let them continuously whale on her. And when she decided for it to stop, one-shotted them all nonchalantly. How is this NOT impressive? What trans level character in any comic has been able to do this as an average?

Will have to strongly strongly disagree with your opinion on the matter.

And how is all this even relevant to how SBP is supposed to win here?

I think that only means that, while the other gods were too dead for her to revive, Thor was not.

I'd think so. I never said the feat wasn't impressive, but it isn't that great.

it does, it means that her power is extremely limited, she can only resurrect thor but not the others for some reason

"That great"/"That impressive" is a relative term. Usually in comparison to something.

I'm assuming that it's NOT in comparison to anything SBP has done so I'm back to my old question:

How is any of this relevant to this thread?

SBP easily tanked a shot from Mordru. I don't know what Gaea could do to him.

Death has been a rather iffy thing is Marvel and comics in general. Sometimes it's something that a story requires, ppl can be brought back to life easily. Sometimes it's so permanent that even the most powerful beings need to adhere to it unless they manage to overcome the abstract death herself or one of the hell lords or w/e. Not really much of an indication of anything.
