Kal would probably knock him off the board before it came to that.
it's risky

the missile wes never seen again, and it clearly didn't impact with the board enough to trigger an explosion. it also didn't lose velocity passing through.

Uh, we saw the oil refinery explosion knock out Superman no? Doubt he can withstand the Nova flame.

superman took the world engine blast for an extended period of time, why are we assuming surfer will knock him out with his blast?
Galactus showed no feats whatsoever, he showed an extreme appetite and superior tech that devours worlds but that's it. not sure how he is of relevance, this is not comic galactus.

I need to re-watch the scene but my friend told me

Spoiler:
that the World Engine was going to terraform the Earth but at the time it was barely doing any damage to Metropolis much less the entire planet.
Not sure how that means Surfer will be unable to take him out.

It should also be noted that Clark definitely felt the bullet from the F-22 (I remember him noticeably grimacing). Pretty much in-line with what we saw with other Kryptonians.

It was. That was the entire point. Regardless it's an incredible feat.

Spoiler:
Superman tanked the full blast which was powerful enough that Skyscrapers in the blasts proximity were taken down.

Tbf, that was a "rookie" Clark who hadn't begun learning how to fly or fully tapping into his powers. He got up nigh instantly after crashing through a mountain side as well earlier in the movie.

Spoiler:
A good chunk of Metropolis was reduced to just an empty ruin. He was also weaker than normal when he flew through the World Engine.

I don't remember the instance. When did he exactly grimace? Because I saw him get shot in the head from a chopper's mini-gun and all we were able to see was his head jerk back from the force. We never actually see his face.

Yeah, I remember the

Spoiler:
Chopper violently snapping his head back with force but one of the military's vehicles hit him in the chest and I specifically remember him grimacing.

I will take your memory like a grain of salt Mr. I didn't watch the Metropolis fight because the movie was shit and I had to piss. uhuh

Still not on the level of Doom's durability from FF 1.

Maybe.

Doom can be as tough as he wants. All it will do is prolong his pain.

Wait, they said Clark got stronger? Really? He definitely got a lot more experienced and learned to fly but that's all I remember.

When he

Spoiler:
got off Black Zero, did he not regain his powers right after being hit by sunlight? This is also why I don't believe Superman having longer exposure really made a difference and Kryptonians were competitive from the get-go.

His energy/heat resistance is astronomically high. But blunt force trauma is something else. He'd probably be BFR'd by Superman.

What? I specifically said the opposite. But I had to go pee. Even just 30 minutes of nonstop action while great can get numb with that kind of pacing.

Jake didn't say Clark got stronger. He said Kal-El was learning to fully tap his powers. Jor-El was encouraging Kal to push his limits. Jake's comment was spot on IMO.

We never saw him tank that level of blunt force trauma, so it's impossible to determine. However, it should be noted he was manhandling Thing like a toddler before the rest of the team arrived in movie 1.

Doom isn't in this thread anyways, so I don't understand why we need to discuss how Superman will beat him.

Thing was a toddler in FF1.

Fair enough. Doom discussion is now gone, ne?

Jor-El told him to keep pushing himself, and his strength and durability definitely seemed to get better as time went on, as well as his recovery time. It's how he went from

Spoiler:
an oil rig explosion taking him out to going through the side of a mountain and getting up instantly to flying through the World Engine's gravity pulse while weakened to flying fast enough to resist and eventually escape the pull of the Phantom Zone, which was described repeatedly as a black hole/singularity.

I do think Superman > any single Kryptonian, but they had training military speaking/combat wise.

No argument from me there.

Oh I agree, Jor-El wanted Clark to push himself and past his limitations but I don't believe there was any power increase.

Thor's next movie is going to out-gross Man of Steel. 🙂
