Did anyone else visibly cringe in the theater when Luke looked at Ray, then stared into the camera and said "after all these years, the force awakens"?****ing SERIOUSLY, JJ?
Dont remember this happening but I might have nodded off or something. Regardless the ending was indeed cringe worthy.

Because people in general are like him these days. There is an emotional connection between the audience and him. What can we do? This is the PG era, where parental spankings are prohibited, and everything in media has become sissy-fied.
Your probably right hence why I said I must be to old to really enjoy these kind of movies anymore. We went from having the brilliance of Darth Vader and Darth Maul to having a villain that reminded me of Justin Bieber dressing up in a cosplay outfit. Sorry, but i'll never be able to like that weak, emo villain, but thats just me .

Finn's cheesy confession to Rey.
And: "Not anymore. The name's Finn. And I'm in charge. I'm in charge now, Phasma! I'm in charge!"
And of course: Phasma's panic when Han threaten to throw her in a trash compactor.
