I WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN

No, but it adds to it; and the lack of it detracts from it.

Iyo.

I've seen very original films that were appalling. Again you hated it and seem made at the world it's making a huge profit.

Iyo.

Yes, it's my opinion that it was bad because it was objectively poorly written and had generic and forgettable designs.

There are other factors that can ruin movies too, but that does not change the fact that this movie was ruined by its lack of inspiration.

That's stupid. Why would I care about how much money it makes? It was Star Wars, it was going to make money regardless of whether it was a good or bad. Even the prequels made a shitload of money, and I didn't give two shits about that either.

My problem is the fact that the writing is on par with a bad fan fic and that the designs look like they belong in Disney's next Pixar movie.

Art and entertainment are subjective so who cares. Iyo not many others peoples opinions.

That's a fact. The point of making a film from a business standpoint is to generate money not impress whoever you are. In that respect it is a resounding success.

If that was the case there wouldn't be fields of education dedicated to the arts.

Plenty of people share my opinion. But again, it doesn't matter, because I don't need other people to reaffirm my opinion for me to keep it.

I never denied that the movie wasn't a financial success. But that doesn't change the fact that it was a glib facsimile of George Lucas' A New Hope.

False. We have fields of story for all kinds of varying subjects that are subjective.

And your opinion is just your own. Opinions vary.

George Lucas himself admits he was very disappointed with ANH but you can go right on ahead and worship it. It always failed to entertain me. Force Awakens is a lot more enjoyable than a New hope ever was.

If this guy doesn't get his own comic series in the Expanded Universe there is no justice.

Didn't Han kill him?

Yup, that guys rules. Maybe he has a brother.

If you are looking at how TFA ripped off from ANH, than I will actually give credit to Lucas for the basic structure.

Well, Lucas got the basic structure from Joseph Campbell's analysis of very old and very long used narrative structure from mythologies etc. ANH is a direct copy of the most basic narrative structure. For the SW historians among you: Lucas couldn't get his "The Star Wars" working until he restructured it along lines of Campbell's book. So the structure does not belong to Lucas, but to mankind.

However, Lucas made the original characters so there's always create to him.

So who deserves more credit for the greatness of TFA, to whatever extent there is greatness? Lucas or Abrams?

Discuss, plebes.

LOL You just wanna see more fights.

I cant believe people actually liked Kylo Ren. An Emo Vader that threw temper tantrums like a spoiled teenager and this is the character that people are latching onto? Sad.

Because people in general are like him these days. There is an emotional connection between the audience and him.

What can we do? This is the PG era, where parental spankings are prohibited, and everything in media has become sissy-fied.

People like Kylo Ren because he is a metaphor for fanboy mentality.

Also his lightsaber is cool and his helmet is rad and I dig his story particularly

Snoke is where it's at. Kylo Ren is the victim of Snoke's brilliance.

You say Victim like that's a bad thing to be
