Im not mocking it.. Its just obvious that you dont wanna say katara would lose so you made it so she stays in the ocean for the rest of her life. At that point its not even a fight because she would be wasting her time.
Vs threads are supposed to have winners.
Katara loses thisfight because she has no way to BEAT toph where as toph on the other hand does have ways to beat her.
Whats the point in having a vs thread where one fighter just runs away from the other.
Though said in jest, honestly I can't see her getting to the water. The oceans an advantage to Katara? Well the whole land would be Toph's advantage, and I'm assuming they're starting on solid ground.
As said earlier, long distance wouldn't help either too much, and when things get close Toph takes it.

3. How would it not be a fight? Katara would be trying to defeat Toph and Toph would be trying to defeat Katara. That's a fight. Even if there may be no victor.
4. Versus threads are supposed to make discussion. They're not "supposed" to have anything.
5. If Katara is on the ocean. Which she can and would do, Toph doesn't have a way to beat her either.

Yes, land is Toph's advantage. Which is why Katara would go on the ocean to nullify that advantage. And it seems to me you think Toph would stomp Katara when she isn't on the ocean... Katara could most definitely hold off Toph to buy her time to get to the ocean.

Thats the thing going onto the ocean is not her best chance to win. Kataras best bet is to fight close range at least close range she would be able to at least try attack and counter whatever toph throws at her.
If katara was to run away to the ocean all that would do is allow toph to bunker down katara wouldnt be able to do anything to toph once that occurs. She would be wasting her time.

That way she can take more time chagrining her attacks and evaluating any weaknesses in Toph's defense, or any environmental advantages she can exploit. She also doesn't have to worry much about Toph because she can't possibly hit her because she can't see.
Option 2: Close range, where all of her previous advantages would be gone. Her attacks would be less precise, strong, etc. And she has to worry about Toph attacking.
Explain to me how Katara would decide option 2, please.

Toph could bunker-down whether Katara is in close-range or long-range. Long-range is just the better option in this situation.

We have seen this same scenario more than once where someone trys to fight long range at first but then decides that close range is the only option left when trying to win a fight. Even tayuya a master of sound strategist decided that clise range was how she would defeat shikamaru. And she would have won had temari not saved him. So you saying katara would stay in the ocean forever even tho she knows her attacks from that range are useless belittles kataras intelligence.
Im not saying close range would be her first option im saying as a last resort she would most likey eventually she would come from the ocean and try to fight toph close range. If she wanted to WIN.
