Umm... no. I see stalemate. If there was no ocean, lake, etc. I think Toph would win. Since this fight is on even ground (ocean there) I don't see Toph winning. Nor Katara, which is why I've changed my opinion to a stalemate. Full moon, that's a different story.

Full moon katara would win but thats also is an unfair advantage over toph. You alluded to the same thing when we were talking about azula vs katara the last fight. You talked about sozins comet

The thing is, is that Katara wouldn't fight Toph in close range, at least not for a long time. Only to buy time to get to the ocean. It would play out by Katara going to the ocean, no other way. Because any other way wouldn't make sense. I think if Katara vs. Toph, where Katara doesn't go in the ocean would be a good fight. But in the end I see Toph winning. But that wouldn't happen because Katara is smarter than to do that.

Nobody fights to stalemate which is why all the characters in all the examples i showed chose that there only option to WIN the fight would be to go close range other wise this whole fight is meaningless. Thats is why katara like any other fighter smart or dumb would bring the fight close range

Not in this situation would Katara go to close range. I don't give a shit what the other characters thought. They weren't facing Toph, and they weren't in the same position as Katara would be in.

They were facing ppl leagues stronger than toph with abilities that far exceed any earth bender

At first yes katara would go into the ocean but after she realizes its to no avail her only other option to win would be to go close range whether you like it or not thats fact

Okay? That proves nothing. Why the **** would Katara go into close range? You keep saying their only option was to go into close range. Good for them. Katara doesn't have to nor would she.

Katara would have a better chance inflicting damage on toph close range instead of staying far away and inflicting zero.

She would fight toph and it would be tough but toph's battle experience and overall mastery of earthbending would be the factor that show she would win.

Ive already showed you plenty off ppl doing it against ppl who were stronger than toph. some of them are smarter than katara. So its not stupid for her to do it.

If katara wanted to win the fight then close range is the only viable option. If she wants to waste her time then long range would be the outlet for that.

Let's evaluate.

Option 1: Katara goes to the ocean and attacks there. That way she can take more time chagrining her attacks and evaluating any weaknesses in Toph's defense, or any environmental advantages she can exploit. She also doesn't have to worry much about Toph because she can't possibly hit her because she can't see.

Option 2: Close range, where all of her previous advantages would be gone. Her attacks would be less precise, strong, etc. And she has to worry about Toph attacking.

Explain to me how Katara would decide option 2, please.
