Okay, I watched it last night and needed time to think about it.
This is without a doubt, the best super hero action in a movie ever. The way the Russos handled the fight scenes and choreography is master-class. This movie is easily in the top 3 MCU movies and is one of the best comic movies ever.
Spoiler:
The good -
-Robert Downey Jr. is so f'ng good in this movie. We sometimes forget due to the ease in which he slips into the character of Tony Stark that he is in fact a brilliant and unparalleled actor. What he brings to this movie can't be quantified imo and his performance is worth the price of admission alone.-The fight scenes, as mentioned above; are incredible and easily the best super hero fights ever depicted in film. They are that good.
-The other actors. I praise RDJ but indeed all the actors really shine in this movie and bring their A games. Chris Evans especially; he IS Captain America much like RDJ IS Iron Man. They play off each other fantastically and newcomers Chadwick Boseman and Tom Holland are amazing as well. Also, Paul Rudd's screen time is great too.
-The tone. This is how Ultron (a movie that I like btw) SHOULD have been. There is GREAT comedy in this movie; however, it never lets the comedy derail the serious and emotional drive that the movie brings.
-The Plot. It's not as good as TDK in terms of plot alone. It's not as good as Winter Soldier. But it doesn't need to be. The main point of the movie is giving us a reason why the Avengers fall apart and fight each other. And it delivers. It gives us a GOOD reason why Steve and Tony are beating the living shit out of each other. Which brings me to......
The Bad-
- Why does every MCU movie seem to job a character to another character. They really don't have consistency, especially Iron Man. Look, I get that this is Captain America's movie....but does he REALLY have to beat both Spider-Man AND Iron Man. I get it, he uses his superior skills and experience to beat Spidey. And his pure will to not let his friend get killed to beat Tony.....but I'm sorry. Iron Man WOULD and SHOULD have won. Small gripe but it does irk me.-Crossbones. He started off really interesting and showed some skill. He wasn't a match for Black Widow in H2H but he was tough and armored. He gave Cap a good fight but ultimately lost as we knew would happen. But then......they killed him. Another Marvel baddie that is just discarded with no regard. I really hoped that his involvement would be more tied to the plot as well but in reality it was just there for the action.
-Ross. Why does a guy that allowed Harlem to get destroyed by creating Abomination and forcing a showdown with the Hulk get to preach to The Avengers that THEY are in the wrong. Seriously?! This guy is the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black. Also, we get it, heroes have caused a lot of collateral damage in their movies. But newsflash; if it weren't for the heroes the world (Ultron) AND the Galaxy even (Thor TDW) would be destroyed.
The "neither"-
-Aunt May is HOT now? Like, incredibly hot? Not that I mind...but it does seem....odd. Again, I'm fine with it....kinda....-Zemo is both a great character and a bad character at the same time. The way that Bruhl portrays his calm, determined motivations is great. However, the reveal at the end of WHY he was doing what he was doing was kind of a letdown. Still, ultimately he was a good villain in the sense that he was enough. We didn't need a "Super-villain" in this movie and it's probably better off for it. He was just a villain and it worked really well I thought. The use of the phone calls to him was a really good touch.
Overall, I will need to watch this movie again multiple times to let it really sink in. Much like BvS: DoJ this movie is massive. There is a lot to take in. Unlike DoJ however, it doesn't ultimately crumble under the weight of it's ambitions.
My first viewing reaction is probably an 8.5/10. It could raise or lower after I watch it again. But it's certainly WORTH a watch in the theaters.

Two votes for best super hero movie of all time.
I really enjoyed it but I'm not even sure if it's the best MCU movie of all time. I need to watch it a few more times to let it sink in. It is damn good though that's for sure.

Bruh Hydra has surveillance in their operatives eyes to watch and control them... lifting that video was pointless.
Spoiler:
It's not pointless when they want to present the official story of the Stark deaths as a car accident and want to have all documentation and video of the assassination in their possession. Also, don't forget that Hydra had been integrated into SHIELD since WWII and during the time of Howard Stark's assassination (the whole premise of TWS), and it's been shown numerous times that SHIELD/Hydra could patch into the video feed of pretty much all surveillance equipment on Earth (ATM cams, traffic cams, convenience store security cams, etc).
Originally posted by Time-ImmemorialI'm not saying that it's NOT better than the best MCU films....I'm just not ready to give it a final rating. Need to watch it a few more times. My top 3 MCU films were TWS, Avengers 1 and Iron Man.
I dont see what could possibly be better, and please don't say Avengers..

Spoiler:
He does, more or less. Only a momentary distraction gave him the chance to hit Tony's power source. Iron Man had him dead to rights before that.

getting his ass handed to him by Cap for most of that fight. It wasn't until his suit uploaded a fighting style to counter Cap's superior h2h that he was able to win. Sure, we KNOW Steve is the better fighter. It's not even a question. But Iron Man is IRON MAN and he is stronger, faster, more durable etc. Fighting style is irrelevant. He should have won and won MUCH easier. Still, it's a credit to the Russos that at least the way they portrayed Steve "winning" was about as believable as they could make it sans some kind of tech device to counter Stark's suit.Like I said, it's a small gripe overall much like Hulk losing to Iron Man in AoU. It wasn't enough to sour the movie but the fight itself is not really that believable. I mean, Cap got a HUGE upgrade even from the upgrade he got in WS in this film.

Yeah. But
Spoiler:
Spider-Man did job to him. But I guess that's fine given it's a young inexperienced Spidey and it's Cap's movie.

Spoiler:
Well, no he shouldn't of. Steve's obviously capable of staggering Tony with his hits and he was hitting him too fast for him to get a moment to recover. He got him on the back foot and just kept hammering him without an opportunity to respond. Tony isn't a trained fighter either, he can't react to and block someone like Cap in H2H normally. When Iron Man does interrupt his barrage though, he ends the fight almost instantly. They were both pretty consistent in what they could do.
The Russos are spoiling fans when it comes to fight choreography. The bar is raised so high how can it get higher. Those fight scenes were amazing, creative, and not repetitive like the fighting in Man of Steel or lame like in Batman v. Superman. Darth Thor loved the reptitive building crashing but it was lame as it kept occurring. In fighting there needs to be a building of momentum which he doesn't seem to care for.
This film definitely did so. We had that heroes and the airport scene and then balls to the walls finale fight which were both masterfully done. I told you all marvel is vastly superior and those who doubted or backed the wrong horse (looking at you Darth Thor) just sit back and cry. I was right and you were wrong. Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.

^ Only believable becauseSpoiler:
Spidey was a 16 year old Noob. No way Cap will be doing that to Spidey 2 years from now.And even Still Spidey stomped WS first which makes Cap beating him a lot less believable.
Spoiler:
Untrue. WS wasn't stomped just caught off guard but he wasn't done for the count. We see this as the heroes go back and forth and need aid from other heroes. It was a free for all and Spiderman was a completely unknown commodity prior to this fight. You're an idiot.
What I hated the most was
Spoiler:
the AI saying Cap is this unbeatable h2h fighter and needed to analyse pattern and all, when Cap is just punching him over and over again with basic moves, not some uber fighting skill. If that was me in that suit, the moment Cap got me backed to the wall would've been the last hit he ever got on me
