And did any Marvel movie make even close to a Billion before Avengers? Nope, but when you put them together it Avengers made $1.5Billion.

The only difference here is I feel they're a bit late on the marketing, with tickets going on sale tomorrow.

No way is this crossing 2 billion. It ain't no SW7.

Also tickets are available now. They have been since the trailer dropped.

Though those gauntlets look a bit derpy IMO. Kinda reminds me of Tony's cave suit.

Agreed. Might look decent in action. We'll see.

Like I said it's a bit late on the marketing. Unlike SW7. Plus it's out in the summer so will face a lot more competition than SW7.

But it could come close. I definitely see Avengers numbers. Potentially more.

Certainly it could. But that's still a far way off from 2 billion. Though, who knows, stranger things have happened.

How are the tickets selling? I remember in the BvS thread the DC fans were jizzing in their pants because of the amount of tickets sold in the first 24 hours. 2nd to the Force Awakens or something like that.

Huh? Who said anything about flopping, or only one way to do things?

But Marvel's formula (which isn't really their formula because both Marvel and DC have been dong it that way in the comics for years) is clearly the most profitable way.

I'm just thankful Snyder convinced WB to do a couple of other films first before jumping straight into JL.

The way you worded the last post made it seem that future DC films couldn't make as much. I feel you on 2b, though. It has the potential to.

DC fans have Marvel penis envy.

Not nearly as well. On movie tickets it's currently at 7%.

But honestly, it's a pretty pointless stat and not a good barometer for OW. And Marvel films have never been big on presales.

Some people hate the new costume, Go read some comics folks

obviously was inspired by Alex Ross's art which he got from Steve Ditko.

That pic is so Awesome..

Nah. DC still has more Iconic figures IMO, so it has that going for it.

Changed my mind about 2Bill simply because they've marketed Spidey very very late, and that's probably because he's hardly in it.

But I think both this and BvS will make at least $1.3bill WW. While Both have potential to do Avengers money. Possibly more.

James Gunn's Facebook

As I've said before this was one of my favorite Marvel movies (and, no, it's not something I say about all Marvel films). And I saw it before the visual effects were in. And, yes, Tom Holland is far and away the best Spidey ever.

Idk...the costume design is fine but the suit ooks a little too CGI enhanced for my taste. Hopefully more picture of Spider-Man are revealed though.

I'm wondering if the spider-man suit and web shooters will be Stark designed

There's a 4k version of the trailer circulating. Apparently the texture of the suit is a bit washed out and blurry in lower resolution. It looks like actual material at higher res.

Likely the suit he is wearing is Stark tech. He has what looks like web shooter reloads on his belt, and someone pointed out that those lenses on his eyes appear mechanical, and actually make a sound similar to a camera lense adjusting if you crank it up and listen.

Looks like it could maybe be un-suited Black Panther at 0:41, caught in that explosion. If they did frame Bucky for it, it would certainly provide motivation for BP to join Stark's side and go after Winter Soldier.

Also, note at 1:42, they are standing with someone in a tank, but Winter Soldier is actually visible behind Iron Man, when he smacks Cap. Maybe Baron Zemo? We know he makes an appearance somewhere.

And changed my opinion about that bit where Cap says he can "do this all day". I actually believe that's where Bucky will probably join the fight, considering it's reminiscent of the scene from TFA, where a pre-serum Cap is getting his ass kicked by some guy, and says that same line, only for Bucky to jump in.

But of course, this is all just speculation. Won't know until the movie actually comes out.

Well I trust James Gunn

The Spiderman costume looks great and I'm not a Spiderman fan.

can't wait to buy my tickets tomorrow

I agree to the point that I feel Civil War is going to be the superior film. BvS might make more money (maybe). But Civil War is going to be a masterpiece. I believe James Gunn when he says it's the best.

And as far as Spidey's outfit? It looks ****ing great!

I am pretty exited to see Spiderman in this.
