👆 my sentiment exactly.for some reason a select few people became fixated on that one scene as though it was the end all/be all. but yeah, supes and shazam have always been shown as peers/near-equals, with a marginal power gap between them. any logical person has already agreed with this.
I'm not sure why it's a big deal. Captain Marvel is a power house. Just look at where his powers come from. Superman has always been a little more powerful, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal IMO. Maybe it's just me though? But like you have been saying the entire time, Captain Marvel, and Black Adam have always been on the same level as Superman, Zod, and several Daxamites.

What are you talking about Sun amp? And in the second Eclipso fight, Eclipso wanted to use Captain Marvel as his host. Since Superman's powered by the Sun and Eclipso would be forced out of his hosts when exposed to Sunlight. And Cap caught his punch when Zeus-Amping.Galan's assessment requires focusing on one thing, dismissing everything he can as "ambiguous," and ignoring other things, like the problem with Superman's condition when Galan claims Kryptonite finally effects him if it "just" penetrated the atmosphere.
Did Superman state anytime during the Superman Batman arc that he felt weakened?

I'm not focusing on a single example for why Superman's superior to Captain Marvel. It's just I cited how funny it is that the example that Galan kept bringing-up of Captain Marvel having an "edge" because of magick was, since Superman was weakened, and it's become an argument since. Galan is focusing on Batman's statement and dismissing everything else as "ambiguous." Superman would not have been in the condition he was if the Kryptonite had suddenly penetrated Earth's atmosphere at that time.
Some examples for Superman's superiority have been shown in prior issues. Captain Marvel is closer to Superman than most(I'd say out of heroes only Orion is closer), but the difference is more than "nominal" if you look at more than just their fights. And, actually look at some of their fights for things people miss.

This is a stupid question and you know it. Him getting dizzy(or lightheaded, or whatever you want to use) and Toyman asking if he's ok, saying he looks like he's going to puke, makes it clear he's effected by more than it just entering the atmosphere. And him saying "I'm fine" shows he wasn't going to let others know.

I'm thinking that your question is beside the point, and it's not going to get you anywhere. The point is what needs to be gotten to, and that point from the very beginning was that Captain Marvel has never been portrayed as lagging far behind Superman in terms of strength. This does not mean that Superman can not increase is base stats if he decided to solar amp himself. Anything else just leads to a circular debate/argument laced with as many insults that can pass in a forum setting.

Check Abhi's earlier scans where Captain Marvel specifically brings-up using the strength of Atlas as well as Hercules, indicating he's making himself stronger than normal, to stalemate Superman. Previously Blaze had Black Adam helpless holding him by the throat with one hand, and she overpowered Shazam. By comparison, Superman was able to restrain Blaze despite being in a dimension that was weakening him.

He's on ignore, and I would prefer not to. I know that Superman is stronger. He's DC's boy, but the strength gap on average isn't to the point that Captain Marvel could not compete with him, which is what Galan was getting at. I have the books that you guys were debating, and I believe that you guys were arguing over an incompetent writer that showcased his inconsistent thought patterns. In one scene he appears fine, and the next he seems sick. The best thing to do is perhaps go with another confrontation that's shows them in a different light. I've seen them arm wrestling, and I've seen them in a fight, and this was a Superman possessed by an evil being. Of course as not to misrepresent the fight,it could be argued that Eclipso held back because his main focus was to take over Captain Marvel's body. If so, just cycle to another confrontation is my guess.

He isn't lagging at all. Captain Marvel has two shotted Superman before. Even though it was a sneak attack, it still proves they are peers since it would take a peer to pull a stunt like that. Then, there was also a scene where Superman and Captain Marvel shared bodies and Superman was astound/amazed at the power Captain Marvel had in his possession. There are more examples of them being equals than vice verse.

There seems to be a question that everyone has been dancing around. You know the question? The one where everyone has to decide whether or not Captain Marvel is 4x stronger than Thor? Hmm... kind on shines a whole new light on things.

This reminds me of that argument in which if you get hit by fire, but move and don't get burned into crisp it means you didn't got hit by firemmmMakes sense 👆
This should end this debate about Captain Marvel and Superman.

Answer A) Yes, you were hit but moved
Answer B) No, you were not hit, you moved
Answer C) Let me dance around for a while...btw how many pineapples do I get if I respond correctly?

reported for trollng, actually. would you like me to repost some of his childishness? i'd be more than happy to. 🙂exactly, carver. the superman faction is simply putting their own twist on the scene, as usual. i'll break things down again(though it'll ultimately be a pointless endeavor, i'm sure)...
issue #1:
a scientist states the radiation "COULD" start affecting earth once it reaches saturn. "COULD" implies uncertainty. "WILL" implies fact:ie. ambiguous
issue #4:
superman is asked why it took him so long to fly to a specific location, and responds that it was intentional:ie. ambiguous
batman then hypothesizes that the k-nite radiation may already be affecting him. HOWEVER, he premises that assertion with "I CANNOT BE CERTAIN.":
ie. ambiguous
and say what you will about this scene, but absolutely NOTHING in it states that superman was yet "weakened" by the k-nite, as the superman faction is baselessly trying to claim:
ie. ambiguous
fast-forward to issue #6, and we are explicitly TOLD, with no ambiguity to be had, that the k-nite has "STARTED TO" pierce the atmosphere and affect supes:
ie. unambiguous
ergo, the k-nite didn't officially get through the atmosphere until issue #6. simple. 🙂
😬
