Loving how people like to forget Luke fought him alone hours earlier, and was quickly overpowered and disarmed. Also, I see no reason to believe Palpatine improved his dueling abilities in DE.
People remember what they want to remember.
A force meld with Leia, someone who's said to be his equal in force potential, totally didn't help him at all? Right 🙄

Didn't they fight on the nexus of Byss? Sidious notes Luke lost due to fatigue and lack of endurance, not skill.
Could easily be fatigue in that he can't sustain that level of combat, Leia is basically an infinite reserve for him to draw off.
Sure Palpatine had the advantage in Byss, but that's the point, the two never clashed on equal ground.

On a massive dark side nexus...

Other than the fact that Palpatine has become more powerful and he now has a younger body.

You mean when she joins with him after Luke has already bested Sheev in a duel. The audio drama makes this clear. I'll see if I can provide the quotes.
So? I'd like to remind you that Luke had fallen to the dark side. The entire book was about how he tried to fight darkness with darkness, and failed. Be it by Battle Meditation or other means, the text strongly implies that Luke was benefiting from Leia's and Anakin's presence when he defeated Palpatine.
I was referring to his skills, which he had seemingly not been keeping up after the rise of the Empire.

Also, while I do not support Luke being a Tier 10 duelist, Selenial and NewGuy01's anti-wank amuse me. Comprehend (on extra-large image):
Your image is ****ing with my phone, makes the page weird and I can't even see anything but the far left side (some black stuff?)
What is it?

Nah, quote shrunk it so I could at least see it this time.
That looks way more like a force attack but whatever?
People seem to think Luke's speed and stamina equates to blade skill too, it doesn't, that's all force reserves.
"Sound: The Emperor ignites his own lightsaber.
The Emperor: Does it tell you how many other so-called "Jedi Masters" failed to vanquish me? Does your knowledge tell you that I have already beaten you? Poor Jedi. Your kind will soon be extinct. And how fitting that one of their precious lightsabers brings an end to the Jedi delusion!
Sound: Luke Skywalker lunges. The two clash sabers, and duel viciously.
The Emperor: What's the matter, Skywalker? Getting tired? Not quite as young as you were when you fought your father!
Luke Skywalker (*breathing hard*): You have filled the galaxy with your darkness. But I have seen what my father could not see. I have seen that ultimately, the Dark Side will fail!
The Emperor: Jedi fool! In spite of the stories you tell yourself, I am the stronger! Did I not warn you? Now, take the consequences of your failure, like your father before you!!
Sound: Furious dueling--but the Emperor gets the better of Luke, forcing the elder Jedi's lightsaber out of his hands. Both lightsabers deactivate. *
The Emperor: No, Skywalker. It is not your time to die. It is your time to submit. The Dark Side will break you..."

They were force bonded, if she's near he's amped, it's simple. That's how it works.
Have any proof?

And? Luke still isn't the dark sider that Palpatine is. In fact, him using the dark side may have left him unbalanced.
