Boring and kind of been there, done that. Besides, the best anime's usually have a sidekick that can step up with the hero most times, until the shit hits the fans and it's hero time. Kenichi to Miu, Yuusuke and Hiei, Lina Inverse and Gourry.
Makes the Kaioken concept more interesting, too. Always through there should be someone that's weaker at, say, SSJ1 then someone else, but the weaker guy knows SSJ2 (As an example). Gives more meaning to powerups.
