The problem here is that Good Boo's character is being ruined by DBS: in DBZ he wasn't close to be this retarded at all.

Even if he did, or created another Super Buu or Kid Buu, Goku and Vegeta are WAYYY too powerful now to have Buu be any more than a minor distraction. A Buu level threat wouldn't even be a warm up now

Episode 5 synopsis:

Goku Challenges God of Destruction Beerus!?
Beerus has come to Kaio's planet! Hearing that Beerus is fearsomely strong, Goku challenges him to a fight despite Kaio's protests!! What will be the outcome for the match of the century!?

Searching For Super Saiyan God!
Beerus searches for clues about Super Saiyan God. When he learns Goku knows nothing about it, he heads for Earth to ask Vegeta?!

...So evidently Vegeta's "you hit my Bulma!!" rage-boot will be classified as some sort of SSJ mutation..? Interesting. mmm

I hope they get more descriptive with all of this.

The Goku vs Beerus fight was atrocious, especially when Goku was merely SSJ.

I don't normally notice bad animation, but this was honestly some of the worst I've ever seen.

It sounds like Toei is being cheap again. Granted I haven't seen anything from Super but still its too bad that they still appear to be holding out even with something like Dragonball.

I think it has less to do with budget and more that they are rushing it.

On a positive note: the entire episode was devoted to Beerus vs. Goku. Goku attacked Beerus in every level of SSJ, and was laughably outclassed in each of them. When Beerus finally got bored, he KO'd SSJ3 Goku with a casual flick + casual touch.

On a negative note: the animation was painful to watch at times:

And next week it's still gonna look bad ugh.

Horrendous animation aside, it's still kind of nice to have additional confirmation that Freeza>base Goku, and Beerus>Gogeta/Vegetto... Beerus also implied that even SSJ Goku wasn't that far beyond Freeza--so either Goku's SSJ PL decreased for some reason, OR Beerus just said that to egg him on because he knew that he was still holding back power/transformations.

Anywho, the only portion of their battle in BoG that was explicitly retconned, is when Goku punched a hole through Kaio's planet. Per this episode, a blast from Goku is what made that hole.

Episode 5 is easily the most atrocious DB-related anime episode that I've ever seen in my life. 😘

Context: After Beerus fights SSJ Goku for a while.
Beerus: "I can understand how you defeated Freeza. But if this is all you've got, defeating Freeza would probably be the best you're capable of."

ie. SSJ Goku was definitely superior to Freeza... Which makes a WHOLE lot more sense than the fan-dub I saw. It implied that SSJ Goku would still having a tough time with Freeza, lol.

Also, this time Beerus was even more critical of base Goku's power. Here's the canon translation:
"It seems impossible for you to have defeated Freeza as you are."

This tells us there is likely still a significant gap in power between base Goku(sans explicit power-ups, like Kaio Ken) and 4th form Freeza... More of a gap than I would have thought, at least.

Well, there goes that strength feat. Thee other hand will never learn to count at this rate. 🙁

Loved when Goku said that a super Saiyan 2 punch is capable of punching someone into another dimension.

Is the animation really that bad?

WTF Toei? Why...with DB of all things?!

For the sound of things and the pics of the artwork...I'd say its pretty terrible indeed.

Well nothing is sacred in the eyes of Toei it seems.
