Indeed. Honestly Toriyama probably didn't think when he made the Namekian dragonballs shoot from Namek to Earth. We need DDM in here to calc that feat.
According to a quick Google search, the average distance to Jupiter is ~778 billion meters. It's hard to estimate the exact time it took Bulma and Popo to reach Jupiter, but it was implied that it only took a few seconds max:

I'll go with 5 seconds. So on average, Kami's spacecraft can travel 1.556*10^11 meters/second. Since it took Bulma and co. 34 days to reach Namek, it means Namek is 4.571*10^14 km, or ~48 light years from Earth.
Goku's ship traveled that distance in 6 days, meaning it was ~6x faster than Kami's ship.
And if you assume the Namekian Dragon Balls didn't just teleport to Earth, then they covered that same distance in under 3 minutes. We know this because the time until Namek was going to explode was 3 minutes when the wish was made, and Namek hadn't yet exploded by the time they arrived on Earth.
IOW, it took them ~2 minutes to cover 48 light years. Do the math. 😉

Maybe(hopefully) the Dragon Balls began dispersing a lot faster after Dende retooled them, because back in the day, even kid Goku was capable of catching them:...And he was obviously not faster than Whis, lol.
Also, why are the Dragon Balls faster than Whis? What did I miss?
This isn't kid Goku only light speed showing though.

Toriyama might be a silly man but in his prime his manga is more absorbing than any of the more recent kids.

It should be noted that he snagged a Dragon Ball prior to Dende upgrading them(they're more powerful now, so they could very well move much faster than before.) It should also be noted that the DB's of Earth have no quantifiable speed showings like the Namekian DB's do. It is foolish to believe they disperse equally as fast, however, given that that are completely different sets.
Truth be told, we have NO idea how fast Earth's DB's travel.
Great episode. Probably my favorite yet. 👆
-The animation was much better for the most part--it didn't look like a 5 year old drew it.
-The flashback scene with King Vegeta/Vegeta/Beerus was awesome(that paralyzation-stare Beerus does is haxx.)
-There was a lot of well-placed humor.
-Beerus' trouncing of Boo was much more impressive than it was in BoG. Tbh, I actually thought Beerus killed Boo until I saw him in the preview for next week's episode.
On that note, I am definitely hyped for the next episode! Can't wait to see Vegeta's mutation/rage-boost in action again. droolio
I know Super has to cover BoG and RoF but I'm really interested in this multiverse concept they got going on so I kind of want then to get through this portion as quickly as possible: though not too quickly as Toei's cheapness knows no bounds.
With that said this flux of feats and no-feats is pretty funny.
^ It will be a while before they delve into the greater multiverse. First they have to conclude BoG, then they have to detail the happenings in between BoG and RoF, then they have to detail RoF itself... Then we might see the Z Fighters begin their trip to Universe-6.
Personally, I'm digging how much they're building on the films so far. /shrug
Well I guess that's to be expected I suppose. Still having to go over covered territory gets a bit annoying: I had the same problem with FMA-Brotherhood but these types of things bug me.
While that's one thing to take from this I supposed. Though Super and RoF have me question Z-fighter' durability more than ever.
On another note: I'm starting to wonder if Vegeta will transform into a new level of Super Saiyan next episode(perhaps SSJ3)..? I say this because when Whis explained the SSJ transformation to Beerus(in DBS #3), he described it as a 'mutation':
Whis: "It seems the Saiyans have learned a technique that causes them to mutate and multiplies their battle power many times over. If I'm not mistaken, they call it 'Super Saiyan'."
This is only pertinent because the next episode is titled: "How Dare You Hit My Bulma! Vegeta's Furious Mutation?!"
I know it's a long shot(he'll probably just get the SSJ2 rage-boost), but they use the word mutation as though it's an entirely different level than we've seen before.

Yeah, I was really kind of shocked when I saw that Buu was still alive, too. I straight up thought that Bills had just vaporized him, to the point of him not being able to regenerate.
I totally agree with you too. I'm amped for the next episode. Maybe we'll get to see SSJ3 Gotenks go at Bills, instead of just SSJ1. And hopefully you're right about the SSJ3 Vegeta thing. That'd be AWESOME.
