Crunchyroll..? Srsly..? There are WAY better alternatives out there, brehs -- alternatives that don't play ridiculously annoying ads/commercials during the f*cking stream... Do y'all still use Ask Jeeves for web searches, too? 😂
Regardless, I don't think a series' popularity on pirating sites is the best way to gauge its *actual* ratings/success, but that's just me. /shrug
On another note, I stopped watching DBS at episode #27(which is the final ep. of the RoF arc.) Even then I felt that Akira was placing almost ALL emphasis on gratuitous displays of power(ie. feat-mongering), and pretty much NO emphasis on *quality* story-telling. I found this very disheartening because the original series was ALL ABOUT *quality* storytelling, and it is STILL the best material Akira has EVER produced, but I digress...
That said, I have always been a fan of the DB franchise and wanted to give DBS another chance, so I recently went ahead and DL'd episodes #28-110 for shits and gigs. I plan on binging all of those over the next week or so, and am trying to stay optimistic(I really do want to like it, so hopefully Akira's storytelling methods have changed a bit in the time since I last watched.)
Wish. Me. Luck. ermmnone
Crunchyroll's the only "legal" way to watch it for free, afaik.
Plenty of better alternatives, but all involve paying money or indulging in an eyepatch and peg leg.
Personally, I don't judge, since it seems like "official" routes half ass everything, and I include streaming services, cable, and game emulation with this. My paid for and owned Metal Slug and Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection is full of issues like slow down, sound bugs and such, while I can pull up M.A.M.E. or Kega Fusion and play them perfectly. That should not be.
Oh yeah, didn't know about it until MasakoX brought it up in a recent video, but apparently the crunchyroll version of the one hour special (or last couple episodes) took out a notable and sort of important scene; after Goku went Ultra Instinct against Jiren, you saw the Grand Priest start to look worried and say "This is not good" or something while placing a barrier around himself and the Zeno's.
Not sure why crunchyroll would cut that part out, but is interesting nonetheless.

That's when the series becomes good IMO.

Now that's insane.

I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on it. Super hasn't gotten any better, it's been a death spiral ever since.

Once you get to Hit vs Goku, things pick up pretty well, both animation wise and story wise.
Have fun 👆
Before that is still trash though honestly.
